    Kobe IS better than last year, but only when he's with Shaq, that's why they're the best duo in the league..
    It's Shaq's team, and Shaq makes everyone around him better, including Kobe..

    I just hate Shaq because of those comments he made about USA basketball, how he needed phil jackson to coach if he was gong to play. I hope that sorry piece of crap really does blow out his knee.

    bottom line is Kobe was player of the week and avg 29ppg 8rpg and 6 ass. a game without shaq. yes his fg % was lower than his norm but every other stat was up. throw in 2 triple doubles and very close to a third. of course it's great to have Shaq back but i kept a close eye on last nights game because i knew if they won this post would show up and i took notice that when Shaq went out with one of his rests L.A had a 1 pt lead that they stretched to 11 while he was on the bench. If the other role players would've stepped their games up while Shaq was out their record could've been better

    Why not? All those championships and Phil doesn't get the call to be USA coach? Something is wrong. Think about it. Phil has to be a great coach. Remember Jordan said he wouldn't play for the Bulls again unless Phil was coaching. Phil left, so Jordan retired. Now Shaq said he won't play unless Phil is coaching. What other coach do you know of that players speak so highly of and has as many championship rings?

    i agree thats a bunch of b.s . i don't undertsand how they can pass up P.J escpecailly when they know that if he coaches both shaq and kobe will play. someone must have a personal vendetta ( spelling ) against him

    That's the difference. Shaq makes his team better. Kobe doesn't. The last 2 games without Shaq, there were 2 other players in double figures and Lakers still lost. Look at Derek Fisher's shooting % when Shaq was out, then look at last night. He shot over 50% instead of his usual 1 for 7, 1 for 10 etc. Shaq's presence in the paint gives guards better looks at the basket.

    thats true about Shaq, he does give guys good looks at the baskett but in the games prior to that Kobe was penetrating the defense and passing and guys were getting open looks and they just were not falling. after a while of guys missing shots thats why kobe started hoisting up crazy amount of shots. i do the same thing when i play ball, i love to pass but when guys stop making shots i got to take over image

    about those Olympics in 2004.. will Shaq & Kobe be a part of the team ? I hope so, because it's in Greece and I will have a chance to watch them play imageimage

    autobilia, my argument is not that Jackson doesn't deserve to be coach (he most certainly does) it's that little crybaby Shaq should suck it up and want to support this country that has made his ignorant a$$ a millionaire...if he has no interest in supporting his country in this day and age, he is a real piece of garbage.
