Wrong Paypal address

I just found out a buyer in one of my Ebay auctions sent a $3115.00 Paypal payment to the wrong Email address on Wednesday. Has anyone else ever had this happen. I hope the guy can get his money back.

If the person he sent it to is willing to do a refund he should be OK. If they aren't then he'll have an adventure.
My question is why would you accept PayPal on a $3K sale? (Especially from somebody too dumb to use PayPal).
I would sure be willing to wait a few days for a money order to save $100+

In my case I misspelled the email address (1 typo) and the email I sent to did not exist, I don't think, so it just sat in PAYPAL unclaimed cash drawer.
All I have is a personel Paypal account and only accept payments made from the buyers bank account or existing paypal funds (No Credit Cards). Paypal does not charge anything to receive payments to a personel account.

But be wary of the weasels at PayPal.
They aren't regulated and they can freeze your account and refuse you access to your funds. There are a lot of horror stories (you can't find them on the net).
It happened to me once. I got ripped off (on a video camera) and because I waited 31 days to contact PayPal they told me too bad (the user agreement says 30 days). So I did a charge back thru my credit card and that got PayPal all upset. They permanently closed my account and said they would send a check for my balance (about $800) after their investigation. They said I could only accept payments or make deposits but couldn't transfer or withdraw funds until I paid them the charge back.
I had to explain to them why that wasn't going to work for me and they re-instated my account after a few days. But I've researched stories about it and they can take 6 months to send people a check after their investigation is completed. They're too lazy to go after the thieves so they try and extort the money out from the victims. And holding on to their money is how they do it.
Even in this case you could get caught up in their investigation. Let's say the guy doesn't get his $3k back and goes to PayPal and tells his story. Because your account gets mentioned in his fraud report they could decide to freeze your account while they sort it out and that can take months. And they can do whatever they want since they are not regulated under a bank charter.
So don't keep any balance in your account or it could be at risk - even when you are just sitting there minding your own business.
If I were you I'd zero my balance at PayPal right away. I know I would if I thought my account was about to be connected to a $3k fraud report.

I withdrew all my money last week so it has a big fat "0" for a balance.

Today when I sent him a payment reminder he forwarded me the Email from paypal he got showing he made payment. On that email is where I saw he sent payment to the wrong account. Looks legit unless he can fake a Paypal email.

I would neg the guy just for being stupid

Yes, you can- there are a lot out there, actually.
Some I think are crackpot stories. Others are plainly true- believeable, anyway. I have heard a lot of the stories, and warnings. I've hit one minor glitch in the past, but fortunately my personal PayPal experience has been mostly positive. I don't often use it for amounts over $1,000.
