That's a giveaway price! Good going. I'd expect an NGC at $225. NOT a PCGS Mercury.

  • Hey J,

I looked at that dime on Wed. and today, and thought that it was one of the prettiest I've seen. The glowing luster and the gorgeous but subtle pastel colors make it one stunning "lure". Would have "caught" me if I'd known it was goin' for so cheap. Congrats on a great score.

    Stunning MS68 Winged Liberty, and
    FULL Heads RULE!
  • quattro.....

thanks and i was thinking it was a nice looking dime myself! sure suprised me when it went for $225 as I bid on one on ebay a month ago that i believe went for $350 plus.

do you guys think that it will help my score considering the ms68 will replace a ms66fb?
  • Nice coin. Still working on completing my collection of Franklin halves in MS65 FBL, but once it's done .... think I'm going to start working on Mercuries. Really like the coin.

    JB:

The score stays the same but a nice catch for sure. The 35P you had a bid on also went reasonably didn't you think ?

Sure looks like some of the Mercs went Real Cheap. I intentionally stayed away from the computer so no bids would be placed. Big Goof I think as a 20S ANACS coin that was in a 64 holder and sure looked to be a FB coin went for only $350. Had others on the watch list that went cheap also.

Looks like the Mercs could be in a dead stage again. image

yes that 35 sure did go cheap. I put a lowball bid in just for the heck of it on that one. I was outbid by $10.00. I won a few other lots that I did not expect too.

hopefully the next auction will go the same way as this one

Well I just went to the Heritage Prices Realized and some of the Numbers Blew Me Away. The 23S in 64FB went for $2195 I believe it was and the 25S in 64FB went for over $1000. Some others were interesting also. The 26D which was a very nice coin with a great strike for the date went for only a little over $2000, pretty cheap for the way the coin looked. Other numbers made a Impression also. Looks as though if someone wants a date they will pay for the coin dearly.
