Value and Strike Throughs

How much does a naked eye strike through on the shield devalue a PCGS PR 65 RD 2c piece? Does it make it worth a 64? Is it insignificant?

I would think a struck-through coin would be attributed and noted on the insert. Therefore such an error
should increase the value ,not decrease the value.IMO.Perhaps PCGS either missed this or is calling your struck-through a scratch?thus the 65?

Thanks. It isn't noted, and I think they probably did consider it a scratch and it did detract from their grade.

I think many would consider a minor strikethrough to be a detraction, while a major strikethrough would be collectible, and therefore considered a plus. For me personally, a minor strikethrough is just neutral; not a detraction, just an interesting feature, sort of like clashed dies.

Got a PCGS PR 65 RD 2c piece you'd like to sell, by any chance? (With or without strikethrough. I'm in the market for red PCGS proof 2-centers.)
