New grading idea for MS coins

I was thinking about this the other day. How to balance the needs of the community and market and dealers with regard to grading mint state coins. So much disagreement with MS numbers and averaging and with reducing the scale to 60/63/65/67 and the general terms such as gem, choice, brilliant, etc. And then I thought about how we grade homework. How about if we do not use numbers or words, but the standard A-F grading scale like we use on schoolwork?

A = The best
B = Very good
C = Average
D = Below Average
F = Bad

It would also allow us to have + and - on each grade to show relative position. It also has the benefit of being a scale EVERYONE can understand, but also being vague enough to account for more criteria. And then if we needed to do numerical comparison, we can do it like a GPA.

Any comments?

    That's how I sort my proof sets. they go into ziplock baggies with grade written in perm marker. when comes time to submit, I just pull the A bags out. if I get a new bottle of EZest, I pull the D bags out image

    Better yet, how about "New" and "Pre-owned"? For former set registry coins, we could use the designation "Lease return."
