spree or erob a laker? brian grant for erob, fizer, crawford?, spree trade rumors and more!

LAKERS LOOKING?: The mantra is “Waiting for Shaq”, but how deep of a hole can the vaunted Lakers climb out of? At 3-9, The Lakeshow may make a deal if one can be had, and believe or not, League sources say Sprewell could be a Laker addition, but that seems to go against everything the Lakers have preached, with regards to long term contracts, and building around their two stars, and Spree would directly compete with Kobe, and no one is going to permit that. The logic from sources near the Lakers is that the Champs do not have a second scorer, and if the future of the season rides on Shaq’s return, they may not find themselves where they want to be at season end without a change, and league sources say Mitch Kupchack is looking at options. Kobe himself told media that all he wanted was for his teammates to knock down shots, with players like Eddie Robinson available maybe Mitch finds a deal sooner rather than later.
i say the lakers trade for erob instead because spree is in his prime and erob can be kobe's sidekick for yrs to come. in addition to this, erob is a very talented player and he's good.
MIAMI WILLING: If your listening to the grapevine, Brian Grant can be had, and likely had cheap… enter the Bulls, apparently Jalen Rose (among others) is pushing for a trade to solidify the front court and Brian Grant’s name has come up more than once. The deal as media is reporting would send Grant to Chicago, returning Jamal Crawford, Eddie Robinson and Marcus Fizer. Basically Miami gets a ton of young talent to evaluate, and Chicago gets a solid interior anchor. With Chicago at 4-8, it was only a matter of time before he got tired of losing games, and it seems Chicago may be receptive to making a deal… The agents for those three mentioned players, would like to see an exit that equals playing time and a move to Miami would likely equal that.
if i was riley, i'd pull the trigger already. brian grant can't score anymore and ur getting a young pf in return to develop and not just that but eddie robinson?!? oh man..how can riley pass up on this if the deal is true? fizer and especially erob will mesh well in the heat's new run and gun offense. not to mention, erob and ej can reunite.
LAYDEN GETTING OFFERS: When Latrell Sprewell returned to action there were scouts from most of the teams in the league in attendance, since his return there has been a scout from at least half a dozen teams, and the Blazers are taking a long look at Spree. The rumor on the vine is Damon Stoudamire for Sprewell, clearly baggage players would be included, but none of the luggage guys are of substance according to Blazers sources (no Dale Davis). The Grizzlies have been linked to New York and talk of sanding Stromile Swift and Lorenzen Wright to the Knicks has surfaced, and with rumors of Jason Williams being available would a Spree for J-Will, Stro and Lo Wright trade make the cut? League source say Layden is looking at a lot of options and there is a possible deal out there, but it doesn’t seem like we’ve seen the deal that makes the trade, but its coming.

then again.. Eddie Robinson isn't as good as they say he is.. and if they take Spree they'll have to find a way to deal with his temper (and let's hope they don't do the same like they did with Isiah Rider (keep him on the bench the entire play-offs))
I don't see why they would change the team now.. Shaq is back, Kobe is better than last year, and so are a lot of other players (Medvedenko, George, Walker, ..)
