Eagle collage for MacCoin (2 added for TomB)

I'm a little bored, and Mac's eagle thread stirred up my feathers. Some of my favorites:

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY COOL!!!image Would it be possible for you to add the eagles from the Connecticut and Bridgeport halves? I always thought that they were quite attractive and different than anything we produced.

I just set that as my wallpaper, replacing the high-relief wire edge St. Gaudens I've been staring at for a couple of months... image

    Thanks!

Thanks all, I've been working on these on and off over the past half year for an eagle design related website. Glad all that cutting work in Photoshop was appreciated. The delicate leaves/arrows of the heraldic eagles really tested my patience!

Tom - It requires a fairly large, high res jpeg for these to come out nice (I need a better Ike). I'll look around for good candidates of those. Heritage's Virtual Gallery images were used for many of these, and they've been reduced quite a bit in size here (example).

Now, I need to go look up the Eagles I can't place...............

Tom's suggestions were excellent. The Bridgeport is the most modernistic eagle design, something I never noticed until I saw it "off" the coin. Also found a nice Connecticut -- I'll add both to the collage tomorrow.

Makes me think of all the eagles I saw last weekend. (I mean the living kind, bald and golden, flying gracefully above)

Shylock, great collage! Only, I miss the "turkey eagle" from the patterns, like the 1858 PT16, 17, 18 .... image

Not sure I miss those turkey eagles Pushkin. Thank goodness Longacre went back to the original Gobrecht design.

Added the two commem eagles to the collage. Here's the Connecticut.

Wow, that's really cool. Those are the best eagle collage alumni I've ever seen!

Too bad you had to cut up so many nice coins, though. image

Mac -- the eagle with an attitude is from the 1879 Dollar pattern. Strangely it's paired with Morgan's "schoolgirl" Liberty. Probably the most drastically different designs you'll ever see on one coin.

Shiro -- I did feel a little guilty about slicing these coins up. Before you know it I'll be chopmarking Indian centsimage
