Taking a pr69dcam state quarter to PCGS

I have a state quarter graded pr69dcam by pcgs that has a very obvious blemish. I'm taking it to the SC Coin Show tomorrow to see what they say about it. Will follow up, hopefully with some pictures.

  • I took the coin in question to the PCGS booth at the Santa Clara show and they had a grader look at it (he was from ANACS and had a scope). He thought it was a finger print. I gave PCGS the coin and since they guarantee the coin to be 69dcam, they will try to remove the blemish and reslab it 69dcam or negotiate with me over compensation for it being graded lower or body bagged.

There was a guy from ANACS working at the PCGS booth reviewing your coin? image Was he applying for a job at PCGS or something? image
  • At this show, PCGS didn't have a scope and ANACS did, and they also had an experienced grader, so he looked at the coin for them. Their tables were next to eachother
