I found a counterfeit Morgan Dollar

I was looking through a box of coins i bought, and low and behold was a fake 1900 O Morgan Dollar. Pretty poor quality, but kind of cool. I'm not sure what method thet used.

I haven't received it yet, but I can guess it's probably a low mixture of silver and some kind of base metal.
Here's another one: I think the obverse detail is pretty terrific for a counterfeit!

I agree the Peace dollar is very nice. Some one must have a lot of time on there hands.

I had a Peace Dollar dated 1929 once. Don't remember what happened to it. That one was a pretty funny coversation piece.

It'd be interesting to see these in person. The counterfeiters did a great job, but you can still tell that it is a counterfeit.
