Home PSA Set Registry Forum

New Registry Forum needed!

I am, along with numerous others, looking for certain cards. I have been told and have seen posts telling others to go to the trade forums -- those are wantlist and topic WASTELANDS! eBay is not enough for me anymore!

How bout a PSA Set Registry Buy,Sell, and Trade Forum for all of us collectors? The profile tag lines we all have at the bottom of our posts are OK, but I would like to see a forum for this.

Any thoughts?

  • Not a bad idea.... I've started developing relationships with people and it's cool to go to shows to look for cards for others to help them build sets. With shows all across the country, I certainly can't head too far east to attend them. I'm based out of southern Cal. and can reach the west coast shows (esp. the ones in LA) pretty easily.

    Neal:

It's a good idea -- but I'm not sure if there would be a ton of interest in it. It does sound good on paper -- but if you can't find a card on this board, Ebay, or the Buy, Sell or Trade Board -- I'm not 100% convinced that people will regularly check those forums if they have some extra cards to sell.

I think at least in my case -- most people know what I collect -- and those that I have developed relationships with will come seek me out of they have something that they think I might need or want.

If something like this would work -- here is my first plea:

1955 Bowman #232 Birdie Tebbets. I will set all sorts of price records and offer $600- for this card in PSA 8 NM/MT and $900 for this card in PSA 9 MINT.
I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

  • I think it's a good idea also. I will follow mikeschmidts lead and post a card that I need. A 1957 Topps Football #97 Raymond Berry RC in PSA 8 NQ grade. There, now I can get slammed for posting on the wrong board.image

  • ed rick at mint state has the 57 berry www.mintstateinc.com and peter at www.champsandbums.com has the 55 aa your looking for prices are a little high on both cards but if yopur like most of us if you need it you need it lol gl
  • Buy/Sell/Trade Graded and Buy/Sell/Trade Ungraded might help.

I think this forum is alright the way it is, and that for most of us, posting ads here wouldn't help much. The ultimate buy/sell board is eBay, and anyone who is doing a registry set is watching that every day.

  • I agree with Bruce Buy/Sell/Trade Graded & Buy/Sell/Trade Ungraded would be the best approach. I've tried several times to post on the Wasteland of the current trade board and never had any luck.

I'm still looking for that 1980 Topps Bench in a PSA 9.image

  • Skinsfan, I checked out Mintstate and Champsandbums for the Berry RC and a couple of others. I can't believe the prices these two guys are asking. BV for Berry is $300 and Mintstate has it listed for $499. I think I will wait til he puts it on ebay. $199 over SMR is a little steep as a couple of these cards have sold on ebay in the past at no more than $300-$325. I don't mind paying a little over guide for a card I need, but that much over guide, no thanks. I am not one of those deep pocket collectors. Thanks again for the info.

I posted that thread almost a week ago on the other board and just put a link to this thread and already got two positive replies. Therefore,I guess this is a better place to post your registry needs.image

    YOU ARE SHAMELESS!!!

Please be kind to me. Even though I'm now a former postal employee, I'm still capable of snapping at any time.

yeah, i was going to attempt that set, but i'm already selling off my few cards because i need the dough for a major hockey acquisition. i'll probably just stick to '56 dodgers and hofers.
