Coolest Columbian I ever sold (PCGS MS65)

Columbians with color are not rare but this one was just incredible, in my opinion. Looked just like the images.

The reverse was particularly awe inspiring. Makes ya' wanna collect coins, but only cool ones. Why do people buy ugly coins?

    Gorgeous coin. I thought it looked like a ghost ship in the fog. Looks like I just added to my want list again.

    I like it alot. A friend of mine has an early british copper with Brittania surrounded by a halo of electric blue. That kind of color adds tons to the wow factor. It is beautiful, and inspires one to seek only that quality, just like that Columbian.image

    Very cool. Lets see.... people buy ugly coins sometimes because of lack of knowledge, lack of money, lack of a better specimen to include in sets, or because their tastes differ from "ours". I'm sure there are many more reasons but I'm guessing these are the biggies. K

    Here is my Columbian. Believe or not this coin is only in a PCGS MS-63 holder.
    Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

    Why do people buy ugly coins?

    Because they have great personalities and are less likely to turn you down for dates. image

    I buy ugly coins if they are so rare beautiful ones aren't available.
