Congrats Kevin. Once you start accumulating enough of a collection it IS wise to have it safely secured. I have three safe deposit boxes stuffed with coins and cards; it IS nice knowing your valuables are safe from harm. I hope you have continued success in filling that box up.
What are you going to do with all those other items worth $10-$99? The value of those can add up quite nicely too.

Good move. If you do not have a safe at home then the bank box is the best way to go. I have 2 safes and a ruger GP-100 6 shot wheel gun to protect the safes.
"The silver is mine and the gold is mine,' declares the LORD GOD Almighty."
I just recently purchased myself a box, I used to keep coins at home in a safe, but after i picked up a some more higher dollar pieces, I began to get real nervous about keeping them at home. It was nice to be able to go upstairs and look at them anytime I wanted. But now It makes me feel secure having them in the bank. It was funny because i asked the bank about 50 questions on how safe thier boxes were in case of a robbery or fire, etc, before I put them in there. However they assured me that there was no worry??
What I did was keep my valuable pieces in the bank box, and leave a few of the cheaper ones in my safe at home.
I have my coins in PCGS boxes in a draw upstairs in a locked room. I don't like leaving anything that I own somewhere else. Bank safety deposit box included. I like the idea of a gun safe, and when my collection starts growing I'd sooner invest in one of those.
I have a shotgun, but it's not gonna do a darned thing without someone to operate it.

The more qualities observed in a coin, the more desirable that coin becomes!

That would be a good question to ask the bank.

I will leave them in my guncabinet, where they arew now. I prefer a double barrel shotgun vs. a handgun for home coin protection.
