battier called BIll Clinton our best president ever

Now, I would like to see him defend that. We all know what a savvy politico he is, so battier, explain to us why Clinton was our best president, I'm eager to hear this.

Comments

  • I'm from Canada and out of the presidents you guys have had in the last while I've liked Clinton the most.......as for Bush, not really that impressed with him (lowest IQ for a president ever too)

Clinton played the sax...and monica, economy was pretty good. Well at least Bush had that black eye photo...that was pretty funny. Hope Bush can take care of Bin Crappin soon.

Clinton did a good job.. he helped the american economy back on it's feet.. unlike Bush who
    1) has the IQ of a cucumber
    2) just can't seem to figure out that a war against Irak won't help (again.. IQ of a cucumber..)
  • Id love to see some documentation of the low iq bush supposedly has. I assume you just get thet notion from the biased media in europe and canada considering they have always disliked republicans. I love how europeans say american media is biased when their's is just as bad or worse. He's doing a pretty good job for such an idiot. He pushed through a un resoultion when everyone said he couldnt and he saw gains in the house and senate for his party which has not happened in like 70 years. Not bad for a mental midget.

  • This notion that bush has a low iq is ridiculous. SHOW ME THE PROOF. Not being a good public speaker does not equal low iq. Just because he doesnt agree with your point of view does not mean he has a low iq. battier, you throw out all these accusations like he knew about sept. 11 and let it happen. WHERE IS THE PROOF? Its easy to just throw out baseless accusations. Lets see if you can back them up. If he knew, dont you think he would have already been impeached, I mean get a clue. Oh and please tell me how clinton was such a great president. You talk about how great the economy was. Well the great economy was based on lies by the major corporations about how great their earnings were during the 90's. This fraud went on under clintons nose. He brought disgrace to the country during impeachent whether you agree with what went on or not. He was fooled by north korea and gave them a ton of money and now they have nucear weapons and he was seen as weak by other countries which helped lead to sept. 11. Since we are thgrowing out baseless accusations, I bet you werent complaining when clinton ordered the bombing of a pharmicutiacal factory to divert attention from domestic issues but now you complain that bush is a warmonger.

Joe - I didn't support Bush in 2000, but he will be elected to a second term. Three things needs to happen for Bush NOT to get re-elected:

    1. The economy gets worse.
    2. The war in Iraq gets out of control causing a large loss of life.
    3. A strong Democratic contender emerges.

#1 may happen. #2 is possible. But I doubt #3 will happen. Right now the Dems are talking about Al Gore and Dick Gephardt. Those guys are proven losers. Until I see better Dem candidates, may as well focus on 2008.

Clinton was a very good President. He was not great. Great Presidents are the ones that lead the country at a critical moment in history - Washington, Lincoln, FDR, and Reagan. Clinton was a good manager of the country, not a leader.

Bush could become great if he brings the country back from the 9/11 low - spiritually and fiscally. I don't agree with his current Iraq strategy since it will only make the problem worse.

    My 2 cents.

  • I have seen some of the most ignorant comments I've ever seen posted here.

Undertaker - At least Bush knows how to spell IRAQ. image

Vincecarder - care to cite a source for that lowest IQ ever comment?

JoeBenson - I don't even know where to start with you.

ndleo made some intelligent comments, without coming off as blindly biased toward either side. I do however diagree with him on Iraq...the way to make the problem worse is ignoring it, like Clinton ignored Afghanistan. We need proactive action after 8 years of "see no evil" foreign "policy."

    battier -

why raise taxes...just tell the mint to make more money..

If I have to explain to you the many, many ways that is a retarded statement, you are hopeless. You sound like the average uninformed voter..."hey we don't have enough money, just tell the mint to make more." Sweet merciful Christ you are an idiot.

lol what a freakin idiot.battier obviously still lives at home with his parents or has shelter handed to him by public assistance and has no clue about how the world works.battier lets put this in a way even your small mind could grasp, you know how when they make a low number of certain cards they are worth alot of $ and when they make 10' s 1000's of a card its worth basically mothing? well same goes with money bub,the more dollars they make the less a dollar is worth,if the world followed your brilliant theory we would be paying $10 to $15 for a gallon of gas. what a moron.you need to stop thinking about cards and just plain thinking

Ryan - Bush says Iraq is a threat because of weapons of mass destruction. North Korea and Pakistan have nuclear weapons (and are considered terrorist countries), but Bush is not planning to attack them. I'm not saying that Iraq is a good country, but it is hypocritical to single Iraq out when two other "terrorist" countries have known nuclear weapons and we leave them alone.

That is why Bush has a war-mongerer rep around the world.

Hey everyone I am not taking a stance either way but tht George Bush low Iq rumor(fact) is well traveled. Here is an article I cut and pasted. I'm sure by doing an internet search you can find info also. Again I am NOT saying this is true!!! President Bush Has Lowest IQ of all Presidents of past 50 Years
If late night TV comedy is an indicator, then there has never been as widespread a perception that a president is not intellectually qualified for the position he holds as there is with President GW Bush.

In a report published Monday, the Lovenstein Institute of Scranton, Pennsylvania detailed its findings of a four month study of the intelligence quotient of President George W. Bush.

Since 1973, the Lovenstein Institute has published it's research to the education community on each new president, which includes the famous "IQ" report among others.

According to statements in the report, there have been twelve presidents over the past 50 years, from F. D. Roosevelt to G. W. Bush who were all rated based on scholarly achievements, writings that they alone produced without aid of staff, their ability to speak with clarity, and several other psychological factors which were then scored in the Swanson/Crain system of intelligence ranking.

The study determined the following IQs of each president as accurate to within five percentage points:

    147 .. Franklin D. Roosevelt (D) 132 .. Harry Truman (D)
    122 .. Dwight D. Eisenhower (R)
    174 .. John F. Kennedy (D)
    126 .. Lyndon B. Johnson (D)
    155 .. Richard M. Nixon (R)
    121 .. Gerald Ford (R)
    175 .. James E. Carter (D)
    105 .. Ronald Reagan (R)
    098 .. George HW Bush (R)
    182 .. William J. Clinton (D)
    091 .. George W. Bush (R)

    or, in IQ order:

    182 .. William J. Clinton (D)
    175 .. James E. Carter (D)
    174 .. John F. Kennedy (D)
    155 .. Richard M. Nixon (R)
    147 .. Franklin D. Roosevelt (D)
    132 .. Harry Truman (D)
    126 .. Lyndon B. Johnson (D)
    122 .. Dwight D. Eisenhower (R)
    121 .. Gerald Ford (R)
    105 .. Ronald Reagan (R)
    098 .. George HW Bush (R)
    091 .. George W. Bush (R)

The six Republican presidents of the past 50 years had an average IQ of 115.5, with President Nixon having the highest IQ, at 155. President G. W. Bush was rated the lowest of all the Republicans with an IQ of 91. The six Democrat presidents had IQs with an average of 156, with President Clinton having the highest IQ, at 182. President Lyndon B. Johnson was rated the lowest of all the Democrats with an IQ of 126. No president other than Carter (D) has released his actual IQ, 176.

Among comments made concerning the specific testing of President GW Bush, his low ratings were due to his apparent difficulty to command the English language in public statements, his limited use of vocabulary (6,500 words for Bush versus an average of 11,000 words for other presidents), his lack of scholarly achievements other than a basic MBA, and an absence of any body of work which could be studied on an intellectual basis. The complete report documents the methods and procedures used to arrive at these ratings, including depth of sentence structure and voice stress confidence analysis.

"All the Presidents prior to George W. Bush had a least one book under their belt, and most had written several white papers during their education or early careers. Not so with President Bush," Dr. Lovenstein said. "He has no published works or writings, so in many ways that made it more difficult to arrive at an assessment. We had to rely more heavily on transcripts of his unscripted public speaking."

The Lovenstein Institute of Scranton Pennsylvania think tank includes high caliber historians, psychiatrists, sociologists, scientists in human behavior, and psychologists. Among their ranks are Dr. Werner R. Lovenstein, world-renowned sociologist, and Professor Patricia F. Dilliams, a world-respected psychiatrist.

This study was commissioned on February 13, 2001 and released on July 9, 2001 to subscribing member universities and organizations within the education community.

  • ROCKDJRW, that's well circulated email forward that has no merit in truth, even liberal Time magazine reported that no such study has been done.

HA HA HA HA AH AHA HA that s the funniest thing i have ever heard (the "Sweet merciful Christ....." part). Battiers statement may be the dumbest thing i have ever heard. Anyone with at least a 6th grade education knows that is not how it works. Give me a break....

Also, regardless of his IQ, George Bush has been a great president. The economy is certainly not his fault, it is a domino effect of things like 9/11, the Enron debacle, and the collapse of Worldcom that have scared off investors and common people from investing. Bush has weathered the storm well. And it amazes me that you people want to sit on out rears while that insane loon (hussein) is sitting on nuclear weapons. Yes N. Korea and Pakistan have nuclear weapons also (N. Koreas were actually funded with a lot of help from Mr. Clinton), but it is obvious that Hussein is much more likely to use his weapons against us, so he must be removed. Clinton, while i do not think he was a bad president, brought shame and disgrace to our country. I am not sure how anyone can call a president who went through an impeachment hearing "the greatest president ever". Bush isn't the best, but Clinton certainly wasn't the best........ and Bush will certainly be reelected

  • Your giving Bill Clinton to much credit here. He was in office at the right time. The Bill that needs more credit for the Economy Boom is "BILL GATES". It was the Internet and all the IT jobs that made the world of business grow so fast. All Clinton did was raise our taxes, weaken our armed forces, kill off some old friends in White Water, those he did kill off he had thrown in jail.

The Decline of the economy came before he left office. Therefore it's his fault.

As for the best President we ever had in this country, Clinton is far from it.

    Just a thought.

Afghan is done, but then US wanted to go into Iraq. Now, since the audio tape of Bin Laden surfaced, I wonder where the next war will be. I said nothing about removing the Taliban, but they need to do their homework more before just rushing into war. Out of all that bombing and people getting killed they STILL didn't get who they were looking for. And we were not at war with Afghanistan. And I quote: "We are at war against terrorism", which means it could be any country.
  • only the rich would say something dumb like that rooks.....what you are saying is that he bombed other countries for the heck of it?i hope not...auto pay this dude no mind
