Home Buy, Sell & Trade - Cards & Memorabilia

Everyone read concerning me "getting out of collecting"

Here's an idea. Everyone buy some cards from me to where I end up selling all of my cards, then I'll be done with collecting and will never come to this site again.

If you aren't going to buy anything from me, then it must not be that important to you whether I get out of collecting or not.

  • Why not donate them to a children's hospital? Get a tax write-off. Or just eBay the suckers and be done with it?
  • children wouldn't appreciate the values of the better cards, but I have a LOT of cheaper cards that I could donate. I'll probably do that.

Think about it........why would I pay Ebay's fees to put up a $60 card of someone like Garnett that would sell for about $5, then give Ebay a % of that? It's rediculous. The only things really worth putting on Ebay are "hot" cards or rare items.

well you must realize that as long as other people are willing to put their $60 cards on ebay that yours will go unsold.no one will EVER give you full bv in $ for your cards.probably not even 50% so sell for what you can get and actually get out,or remove that phrase from your sig.as for the lack of trading you know full well its because the majority of the board hates your worthless guts and has for years.moron theres a book called final exit i think you should locate read re-create it.
  • He doesn't want to get out. I have made him cash offers that other people would have jumped on and he laughs because it's too low. Unless you invent a time machine you're never going to get over 1/4-1/3 bv for cards. Sorry.

He doesn't want to get out. also, he holds too much to faith toward Beckett's BV. Beckett's BV is "trade" value guide, not selling guide.
  • If you want to get out of collecting but you don't want to sell you're cards cheap, why not just put them in a box and forget about them? Maybe in about 20 years they'll be worth what you want for them. I don't know why everybody that wants to get out of collecting just has to get rid of every card they have. You will not get what you for them if you're looking at that beckett book. There is this one card shop that I stop into once and a while, and he rarely has the price of the cards that he wants with the card, so when I ask him, "hey, what do you want for this card", he grabs that stupid book like it's his bible or something and rattles off some insane price like thats the law and thats what he expects to get. If I could sell my collection for what beckett says these cards are worth, I would be rich. Never gonna happen though. I'm sure people like to look at beckett and say to themselves, "Boy o boy, I'm rich", but in reality, you know you will never get that price for you're cards. image
Culpepper to ?, only God knows at this point!
  • co1lector does'nt want to get out of cards and leave, hes just a narcosist always looking for a ploy to draw attention to himself.his parents should have aborted him.

Well, I'm selling mine because they take up too much space. I have a closet full and have donated a bunch to Children's Hospital. A lot I'm selling on Ebay. I prefer to just be left with the cards I like and the rest be gone. Got 3 game used cards on ebay and will be listing more stuff next week. Most selling for 1/4 to 1/3 BV, but doesn't bother me much.
  • pac, I don't remember if it was you or not, but someone offered me $40 for my Kobe/25 ($200), both $50 V.Carter #d GU, my Burress RC #d/12 ($80, but maybe more), and one of my Kobe GU (don't remember which one). Tell me guys........would you take $40 for all those cards? OF COURSE NOT.

And where did you idiots get the idea that I'd want full BV in cash for cards? I know there's no way I'll get $200 for my Kobe/25 or $50 for my V.Carter #d GU, but I'm sure as h_ll not going to sell the V.Carter GU for like $15 for the both of them.

I've actually had SEVERAL people buy from me. I'm just not going to put a card like my Burress RC/12 ($80+) on Ebay so it will sell for like $10 since he's be hurt in the last few weeks.

I wouldn't do that, but *cough*EBAY*cough*. Only other way you will get what you want on some is set up at a show. Other than that, get use to continuing collecting.
  • Well, one reason why I continue to look for Culpepper cards is that when I get some good ones, I can set up here and sell most/all of them and be out of a LOT of cards.
