Well, you all are were right, it was cleaned So badly that if I ever find the guy who did why I'm going to .... What a same, a nice MS64 ruined!

Needless to say, the coin will be in the mail tomorrow.

Thanks for everyone's help, at least I'll have more $$ to spend on some really nice toned peaces up for auction. Now, if I can sell a kidney, a couple pints of blood and beg on the streets for the next 5 days I should be able to buy one of them!

Don't feel bad. The Onion had an article once about a guy who got drunk and bought a complete box set of the TV show "Mamas Family." It included two made for TV movies. You could have done worse.

I just better get my $$$ back. I'm going to need it this weekend with so many toned peaces up for bid.

It's funny, I was talking to a dealer/board member and he said that I could never complete a toned peace registry set. It looks like after this weekend I'll have 10 of out 24 coins in just 2 months, if I'm very very lucky and my wife doesn't find out

The 21 stays on the list, though I own a rainbow toned 21 but unfortunately its probably a EF coin at best!

did you see the toned 21 that coingame had on ebay a week or so ago? i think it was pcgs 65, with a fairly nice amount of rainbow toning, and it never hit the minimum.

It can be done, if a person is not fussy about the looks of the tone. To complete a set of Peace Dollars with real nice toning with vivid color would be quite a task, and I really don't know if it is possible or not, especially when you get to the later and tougher dates. I have never seen a later date Peace Dollar that I would consider to have real nice toning.
