Question about coin images...On-line auctions...

If i buy a coin with associated images, are those images legally mine to use,as a selling tool,
without asking permission of the original photographer or the previous owner of the coin,if i offer the coin for sale later to others, using those images in an on-line auction venue?

Does "ownership" of the images,in a legal sense, of a coin transfer from one to another as the coin trades one to another?

You will own the coin but the photo's are the sellers "artwork" and remain their property. Just ask them in writing if you can use the photos.

    I say use the pictures.

Here is a tread I started asking pretty much the same question.
  • You bought the coin, not the photo. As a photographer, I would resent someone just helping themselves to my work. If someone asks, unless it is a really high end photo, I share gladly. I can photograph coins... Need some professional help?image
