I wonder if this is even legal on eBay (don't forget to check out this guys feedback, too).

Get your bids in EARLY. Opportunity knocks!

1877, sort of ....

Check out his other auctions, too. He stole an image from us to use for his listing (see his auction, #802313987). He took it right from item # 1396263540. Anything for a buck these days, I suppose.

Hope it's true. If I were to bid, I would definitely contact the other winners to see if any of them got the 1877. I may save this link and do that anyway.

I wonder which shill will buy the roll and then post that they got the 1877?
  • OuthaulOuthaul Posts: 7,440 ✭✭✭✭✭
Correct me if I'm wrong, but even iff all his rolls go for $30 per, the total will still not equal the value of the 1877...am I right? I agree with nwcs...which is the shill bidder?

    Cheers,

The same seller claims in another listing, that one person will receive an "MS65" 1918-D Buffalo nickel. He has a really nice one imaged and there is no notation that the coin he's including is not the one pictured. Let's stop this guy!

So far there are only two bidders. Did you all notice that he claims he is auctioning 25 rolls, but the auction is for only one? And check out his feedback rating. Not very impressive.

  • I believe these are called "chance" auctions and are a violation of eBay rules.

edited to say: reported to eBay. We'll see if they let these stand.

I think this guy might be more dangerous than the woman being discussed in the other Ebay thread. At least she has images of lousy coins and that might discourage potential bidders.

This guy, on the other hand, posts images of nice coins, but not the ones he is selling. In one of his listings he states that the actaul coin might be slightly different in quality than the one being imaged. In another sale, he makes no mention of whether the coin being imaged is the one being offered for sale. I guarantee you he does not own the coin (a 1918-D Buffalo nickel in one case) being imaged.

He is clearly trying to deceive bidders.

............ i reported to ebay...safeharbor, do the same.

  • He only has 28% negative when buying, but 100% negative as a seller.

The 1877 cent shown appears to be genuine...but the auction is a lottery...

read this,"One roll is being sold per auction."...There are twenty-four other lotteries...er,i mean auctions...

sure...sell the roll with 1877 to your buddy...ha ha ha

I asked him if the 18-D is in a slab...

I'm not bidding unless it is...
