Which coin publication to subscribe to??

My main interest is getting a magazine or paper that lists coin show dates and times.

Thanks,
Jay

Depends on what your interests are:
For General coin information , I suggest:
    Coin World
    I also subscribe to the:
    Numismatist
    John Reich Journal
    Gobrecht Journal
plus the usual complementary publications from Bowers, Hall, etc

  • I like Coin World. It does have a listing of shows around the country every week.

You can also try this link for coin shows...
    coinshows.com

It is not 100% perfect but might give you some help...

I believe "Coins" does as well. The magazine in most bookstores and grocery stores.
  • Numismatic News get my vote. Lots of show dates and also a great read.

  • I like Numismatic News for the articles (where have I heard THAT before image ). I also like the weekly US Mint production figures and the way they do their letters from readers.

I get Numismatic New. It has pretty good articles, and a listing of coin shows every week.

    Wisconsin,

If you haven't already tried it, I'd recommend the "calendar and auction notes" section of Chester Wests' web site: Link
  • Good website Coinguy1! Lots of good reading to be found.
Friends are Gods way of apologizing for your relatives.

For those whose postal people steal their issues, Coin World is now on-line. Of course, you can't read it at the dinner table unless your laptop is next to your plate.

OT, though related: my wife wasn't getting her Southern Living magazine for a while. Then when she was in our local post office, she witnessed one of the USPS's finest cutting a magazine mailer open (clear plastic bag) and telling the other union workers what a great issue it was. After she complained that her issues were missing, delivery resumed without a problem. She was also told by a friend who knew these overpaid servants that if the postal workers see a magazine or newspaper, they'll sit there and read it or take it home.

My USPS must have a different crew. I have never missed a single Coin World delivery.

Coin World, Numismatic News and Coins all have pretty decent show schedules.

Coins and Num News are both published by Krause and have the same show schedule.

Coins is a monthly magazine that pretty much focuses on beginning collectors. I subscribed for a couple of years before I felt that I had outgrown it.

Coin World has a much larger circulation than Num News. I've only seen a few issues of Num News over the past few years and haven't felt it was worth subscribing to in addition to Coin World.

I don't know if CoinAge has a show schedule, but the few times I've read it, the articles have been pretty interesting.

Doesn't Coin World's website have show listings, also?

Check out the Southern Gold Society
