1917-D Mercury now listed

I have finally listed the '17-D Mercury on eBay. 1917-D Mercury. I was able to get the lighting so that I could show off the toning in the image. Personally this is my kind of Mercury, I like it more than the blast white Micro S I also have listed. But I guess that is simply a matter of personal opinion.

I sure wish I had the funds for that one! image

    Best of Luck on it.

    FULL Heads RULE!
  • Thanks Don!

Someone mentioned that the details of the feathers don't show up well in my auction image. Here is a close up of Liberty's head. I can't figure out how to get this close with my camera but the scanner seemed to work OK for it.

I know I can add to my auction description. Does anybody know if I can include a link in the text I add? I'd like to add a pointer to this image.

    Carl:

Maybe you could explain that the Dime is a Type of 16 Obverse which seems to be a little weaker than the Type of 17 Obverse which was made for this very same reason they are asking you about. Also if the people are aware of how a camera works with these coins they will noticed the picture is a little tilted which does not give you full details on a Merc. They have to be directly below the camera and straight on to pick up the details on a Merc. I have no doubt this coin is a Fully Struck Merc. image

Anyway it looks like a Type of 16 coin from the picture. Call me a Bonehead if I am wrong. image

    Hi Carl,

I counted up my pennies, nickles, quarters, and halves(I don't spend dimes)subtracted my obligations, and placed the largest bid I could. I knew it wouldn't win, but it sure looked good with my name by it for a few minutes. I see a couple of other board members have bid also. I hope a board member wins and you are both happy!

Thanks also Ken! I will follow your advice and add that information to the eBay listing. I'm just trying to find out if I can add a link and how to do it. I wanted to practice on the auction ending last night but I couldn't add to an auction with only a few hours left. I wanted to try it on one ending soon in case I messed up image
