Entire Proof set submission?

This question was asked awhile back but I dont remember the answer. While being out here in the Portland area I found 2 awesome DCAM proof sets. A 77 and 78 and regardless of the value of these coins I choose to get them slabbed. The IKE's are awesome in these sets. I want every coin graded, can I submitt the whole set and let PCGs break them out? I thought the answer to this was yes, if indeed, every coin was going to be graded.....

Lucy,
Yes you can submit the entire sealed set as long as you have all coins in the set graded.
I subscribe to both schools of thought on this.
1) You will take the best care of removing your coins (I use gloves and try to be very careful) when putting them in safe flips.
2) They ship better inside the case.
Rick Montgomery said the best way to submit modern proofs was in the mints plastic capsule, so I've been shipping all proofs in their capsules and the same with proof sets. My grades seem to be better when I leave them in the plastic case.
BTW - I wonder by who and how the coins are transfered from the sealed sets into the grading trays. No Gloves I'm sure

way too much.

What does way too much mean? I thought on moderns it was cheaper per coin then anything else. I love the look of these Ike's and all the other coins are super as well, and regardless of whatb there value may be, its not 'way too much' for me cause I simply want them to be slabbed.

I have done the same thing a couple of times just for grins. I just send the whole set and ship it along with the flips that correspond to the coins you list on your invoice. I think it is fun to see what an entire set, especially if it is a nice one, grades at. Here is a recent example of a 86 and 78 Proof set that I sent in as described. Here iswhat I got back:

I agree with the others, submit them in the originial mint holder. At the Silver Level membership it is $12.00 per coin. I to am addicted to the old bald guy in proof. IMHO if you find an outstanding example of this coin, they are one of the coolest coins I have ever seen. What a great small set. Different types and clad and silver. I have found it to be somewhat difficult to find really great examples. Even pr69dc there seems to be a lot of difference in them. You really need to look hard to find them with no really noticeable frost breaks. I have been on my set for about 8 months and only have 2 that are outstanding for the grade. The 76 type 1 and 2. The others I have will be replaced eventually as I find better examples. The coins are just so large that it is really evident when there is even a small flaw. I am glad to see somebody enjoying the Rodney Dangerfield`s of the coin world. They don`t get any respect from alot of folks.
