Basketball Question

I don't collect alot of the sport first off but this is my question.......

I have a cap we had autographed by Shaq I think it was back in 96 when he played for the Magic. We met him at the old Fanattic in Orlando.I think thats the year they won the east but not sure. What kind of bv would something like that bring.I'm thinking about insuring my collection and I want to get an idea before I take and have it done.

I also had him sign a baby bib for my son at the same time.He gave me the wierdest look it was funny as hell.I told him it was for my son he laughed and said that was real cool.

Any help before I take it to get done would help alot...Thanks

  • well... I dont know exact values.. but I do know this much.. you may want to send it into psa/dna and have the sig verfied.. not saying he didnt sign it obviously.. but having the paperwork from psa/dna to substantiate it would certainly boost its value..
  • Without a COA, it's a tough call....my best guess would be $50-75.
  • Thats a good idea I didn't even think about sending it for a coa.Oh he did sign it and it was funny as hell when my wife was standing in from of him if you can read between the lines on that one ...LOL

$50.00-$75.00 thats not bad yeah without a COA it would be hard to ask for more then that..Which I'm not I am keeping it just because we got it IP and was just cool to meet him ...

The baby bib was cool he was so funny when I handed that to him .I wish we had taken a picture of his face .He most have thought I was crazy to have him sing something like that.He did say it was the first one had ever signed so I felt good about it ..Since it was for my son but not use .....LOL

    Thanks for the help

  • I definitely agree with Frank about having it authenticated, that will make it much much easier to sell if you ever wanted to, and also easier to prove a definable value on it if you ever needed to file an insurance claim.
  • I'm going to do that for sure.I think it would be better to wait until I get it back to add it to the collection for insurance..

Ok another question then..When I do that how much would something like that be worth
