yeah, and check out the 2 feedbacks he does have...guessing it was from his other accounts just to have some feedback!

  • The funny thing is that both of his feedbacks are for bmx bikes. The high bidder on the auction has 1 feedback which I went back to the item he bought and the seller of that auction has 4 feedback which of course were bmx bikes and equipment.

There must be a huge crossover between bmx bike riders and 52 mantle collectors. I never realized how the 2 were so linked. image

  • Just wondering, how do you know it's a scam?

Because the cards are in 707's inventory. If someone is trying to sell a card that he doesn't own, that would be called a scam.

    Wayne,

This is very Obvious ... They are easy to steal in NYC one from your home computer lifting scans the other from the street outside... (BTW Chrome rim Wheels fall under this category too!)image

  • Looks like Ebay has had enough as they shut this clown down. The real comedy comes with the bid cancelation history. This genius was canceling his own bids! Since this item ended with a "winner," I wonder if Ebay will try and nail this boob with the fees? ...Michael

MICHAEL - Nail him w/ fees? How 'bout nailing him w/ a jail term for fraud. This isn't a simple case of opps, I mistakingly scanned the wrong card. The seller stole the scans from 707's website for the sole purpose of bilking the public. This to me is a cut and dry case of fraud. But I guess eBay is too busy to prosecute, and the negative publicity will hurt the bottom line, so the seller will try again in due time w/ different stolen scans and a fresh IDimage...jay

when someone sells something he doesnt own
he isnt always a scammer.if the card sells
for a higher price than Levi's(which we know is
IMPOSSIBLE) and the seller then bought it from
Levi cheaper and delivered it to the ebay buyer
    it wouldn't be a scam.-ofcourse These particular
    auctions are bogus-

  • pc - You're correct. I had someone email me to sell me a 1965 psa 9 which was for sale on a dealer website. (same serial #) Of course he was marking it up $150. I had been thinking about buying the card already but was worried about the centering and when he sent me the scan I realized it was the same card. It is possible but obviously not in this case. Plus I would think ebay would have a problem with people selling items they don't own simpley to try and buy them if they sell high enough. Imagine the possibilities.

    Wayne:

You should buy the card from the dealer and then go to that other individual and then tell him you're interested -- and try and see if he'll take money right away to ship overnight the next day. Tell him you'll pay extra for that service ;-)
