Well another ebay saga!!!
Here is the play by play: 10/20/02 auction ends. Immediately following auctions end a Paypal invoice is sent. A week goes by. No response by the buyer. 10/27/02 I send a nice notice reminding them of the auctions end and their responsibility for payment (It probably just slipped your mind). NO response. 11/3/02 I send another notice reminding them again of their responsibility to pay, and if they do not respond they may be faced with negative feedback. 11/4/02 Finally a response. They send me an eBay checkout. 11/4/02 I respond by sending them a total due along with mailing information. At this point I am thinking (Check is in the mail). WRONG!! 11/10/02 Now I'm starting to get upset. It has been three weeks. I send another reminder, Not quite as nice this time. Telling the buyer if contact is not made by Mon. 11/11/02 at 9:00 P.M. EST Negative feedback will be left. Well, I get to thinking Mon is a Holiday and maybe, just maybe they sent payment and I was unable to get the mail because the P.O. is closed. I decide to give it one more day. MISTAKE!!!! I list some items on ebay and notice my feedback has changed. This jerk gave me a negative feedback stating ("Constant harrassment.... He needs to get with the program and accept Paypal"). By now I am fuming. This jerk is in the wrong yet he hits me with a Neg. 11/11/02 He sends me an email wanting to know if I still want to go through with the transaction. WELL, I'm up for comments and suggestions folks.
FIRE AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THANKS FOR ALL COMMENTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

By now I'm sure that you will agree with my assessment that the computer, and eBay especially, are just tools to allow you to meet all the buttheads in the world that you won't get to meet in person.
I had one like that and I finally got a response to an email of mine where I had stated that by being the high bidder a binding contract had been entered and to "be a man and live up to your responsibilities." I got an email back stating "As much as I try to be a man, my breasts keep getting in the way!" OOOPS! At least, after a month I got a response.
All I can say is, keep a stiff upper lip. Sorry to hear about the neg.

I would post a response to his negative in a very nice, polite way, though.
And, I agree. Send your paper trail to ebay. Maybe they can get the neg taken off.
Good luck.
edited for spelling.

I'd post a link to this thread as your follow-up to his negative.
what nerve these clowns on ebay have.
How is his feedback? What is his past history?
(I'm just kidding, of course.)
Sometimes I go through checkout in hopes of finding a payment address because I had not recieved it before - the ebay auction closed email usually doesn't have it/ the Paypal statements doesn't have it -
I even have had sellers ask for my shipping address in an email so they could calculate postage - they get back in a week but still I don't know where to send their money. Some sellers are so concerned about how they are going to get paid they forget to tell me the buyer how to pay them.
You have 90 days to give them feedback - wait and see - was it an expensive item that ebay fees will cost a few dollars? File with ebay to refund your listing/final value fees (after their time limit)
You meet all kinds on ebay - don't sweat the small stuff - with this guy, if payment comes, make sure you have some sort of delivery confirmation and insurance - I can see them claiming they did not receive it!
<< <i>Constant harassment... he needs to get with the system and accept paypal. >>
I guess he missed that bright yellow "click me" Paypal logo in the auction listing.

TWODOGS- I hope you told him to put his playthings down and pay his bill!
I told him in the email I was awaiting a response from ebay before I would complete the deal.
Well, I received an email back from ebay already. They say, while negative feedback is dicouraged, this is not grounds for removal. That is Bullcrap. THAT IS TERRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just to clear up a few questions, I received a receipt from Paypal showing the invoice was received. and, the invoice has my mailing address included. The buyer had my mailing address for three weeks.
Now the question is since he paid WHAT SHOULD I DO?????????
I feel like I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place. The nice guy in me wants to mail the coin out tomorrow. But, another side of me says wait.

<< <i>They say, while negative feedback is dicouraged, this is not grounds for removal. That is Bullcrap. THAT IS TERRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! >>
I could have told you that would be their response. It's basically impossible to get a negative removed, no matter how stupid it is. That's why so many sellers get can away with unwarranted retaliatory negatives.
<< <i>Now the question is since he paid WHAT SHOULD I DO????????? >>
Immediately return the payment and tell him to piss off.
Russ, NCNE
A: Not complete the transaction with this butthead
B: File a NPB with Ebay
C: Nuke him with some choice feedback
Reply to his negative feedback with the facts, and or contact Ebay about having the feedback removed.
So pretty much I would do what others have suggested. Good Luck
Ahhhhh I just saw your most recent post, you can refund his money through Paypal at no charge to you, so that's what I would do!!!
Send him the FE anyway and tell him to shove it up his ass
Immediately refund his paypal payment from your paypal main screen. Then contact paypal and ask them not to accept further payment from him, explaining the problem. Then wait till you're sure he's looked for weeks and post the appropriate feedback. IMO
and it sets us apart from practitioners and consultants. Gregor
Half of the IDIOTS on there can't read. The other half DON'T read instructions.
I try to spell everything out in my listings to cover each and every "out" for someone and STILL get clowns that cannot follow my explicit instructions.
Exactly what does this idiot think that yellow PAY NOW paypal logo is for on the listing???????????
It's a shame that your feedback gets tainted by a bidder that cannot reply to an email much less follow instructions.
I'll be sure to add this individual to my BLOCKED list and would hope everyone else here does the same.
Here's the link for everyone to block him!

There are three methods that sometimes prove successful. One is, as you mentioned, nasty words. Just pick from the seven that you don't here on TV and fit as many in as possible.
The second is to include personal information about the target in the feedback.
The third is to include a link to an outside site. With the third, you can include all three elements.

So the buyer is a doofus....doesn't mean you need to punish him....that's "road rage" mentality...why get your blood pressure up doing something like that?
He finally sent payment, so send him the coin.
Use insurance/signature confirmation etc. to protect yourself.
Put the just the facts in your response to his negative.
Then put him on your list of people to avoid.
Good luck.

In the long-term, that's correct. In the short-term he could still file a fraud claim with Paypal, who would immediately lock up the funds in Al's account while they investigate. In the end, Al would be fine, but why should he open himself up to another chance for this cretin to give him a headache?

Link to Al's feedback
A link to what this bidder has been bidding on
A link to bidders feedback
One thing you can do is contact the other sellers this buyer has bid on and see if they are having the same problem. It looks like this bidder has had an account with eBay for 2 years and has never used it. I am guessing this may be a shill bidding account meant to discredit other sellers. I may be wrong, and probably am.

And start taking PayPal.
Had he not left the Negative feedback,I'd have completed the deal.Since he chose that course of action,I'd Neg him and move on.I would use the E-mails to try and get Ebay to remove your Neg.

I might even send him another email that stated that you blocked him from any further auctions and that you informed everyone on this board about what happened so they can block him too.
Looking for PCGS AU58 Washington's, 32-63.
I think NPB is your responsibility. I've got a deadbeat about ten days ripe so this thread was excellent timing. Al, that's a great feedback rating nonetheless.
If you scroll down and look at all of the other comments, they are excellent.
I wouldn't lose too much sleep over it. A negative is doomed to happen. It is very random. I'm waiting for mine to come as well. As a bidder, I would have no hesitation bidding on his auctions.

Copperhead-
Unless I'm responding to a buyer or have a special circumstance (combined S/H,etc) I just use eBay and PayPal to contact them.
Just follow this simple procedure:
1) After the auction, make sure an email is sent (ebay,PayPal,you) with payment info
2) wait 8 days and send a Reminder thru eBay
3) wait 3 days and file a NPB report
4) wait 10 days and file for a FV fee refund.
If they are interested in paying they will and this method avoids the hassel. I usually hear from the slackers after step 4 asking if they send payment if I'll remove the eBay warning from their account.
Otherwise, just relist it and try again. They're not worth the effort.

Thanksgiving National Battlefield Coin Show is November 29-30, 2024 at the Eisenhower Allstar Sportsplex, Gettysburg, PA. Tables are available. WWW.AmericasCoinShows.com
Tell him that deadbeat insurance (tracking), plus going to the PO to send the item with tracking, plus interest, will cost him another $30 Pay you for your troubles and teach him a lesson- if he refuses, tell him you don't understand refunds and can only refund his $$$ after fees
Now I know why you didn't link the auction page.
Send the man his coin. He is a real jerk, but send the man his coin. Send it 13c Postage Due!

On Oct-14-02 at 18:48:11 PDT, seller added the following information:
Pay me securely with any major credit card through PayPal!
then look at this:
Started Oct-13-02 18:00:08 PDT
Ends Oct-20-02 18:00:08 PDT
looks like your listing even showed that you accepted Pay Pal where the buyer says you need to get with the system I think he needs to learn how to read and follow directions
that is just my 2cents worth due to I spend all my cash on AUCTIONS or my BOARD LAYAWAYS
Dont sweat it
