PCGS/NGC History - does anyone know?

With all of the PCGS/CU stuff going on these days, I got thinking about the history of NGC. I've heard that NGC was started by former disgruntled PCGS employees. Is this true? And what were their reasons for leaving PCGS?

We are finite beings, limited in all our powers, and, hence, our conclusions are not only relative, but they should ever be held subject to correction. Positive assurance is unattainable. The dogmatist is the only one who claims to possess absolute certainty.

From my understanding NGC was founded by John Albanese as was originally based in Parsippany NJ. With Mark Salzberg & Kenneth Krah they got underway sometime in 1990. Albanese was to lauch a NJ Coin Exchange sorta like a stock market but for coins, however, I don't think that idea ever really took off.

I don't think Albanese ever was with PCGS but of course I could be wrong.
