On the arm and breast?
Also it's advertised as "original and pleasing". I think it might have been cleaned .

not an "unpleasing" coin by any means but i think not an "original"...

surfaces a little to clean given the amount of wear...in a circulated original,i would expect to see more evidence of the uneven distribution of dirt from circulating hands in the deeper areas of the coin...i don't see that on this coin...

i suppose that an "appearance of originality" can be artificially created too having said that, but still, i would concur with the OP that this coin has probably been cleaned at some time and is now
evenly "recolored"...true originality usually has a more uneven appearance than this coin,in my opinion...

...this is one of those circulated coins that will pass as original much like a 'close to uncirculated' coin will often pass as uncirculated...

  • I agree with mr1874. Probably an old cleaning with uneven retoning. The high contact points showing a grayer appearance than the rest of the coin. Too clean in the devices for "true" original.
