storing slabbed coins

Does anyone use the below storage method for storing your slabbed coins? I know they sell boxes for slabs, but I want to be able to look at them and flip through them with ease. My initial idea was to find a place that sold soft plastic sheets, that could be inserted in a 3-ring binder, that would hold slabs. (I know they sell the sheets that hold 2x2's.) Does anyone know of a place that sells sheets for slabs? The 2 pictures below is somewhat similar of what I am looking for. However, the site I copied the pictures from BRENT-KRUEGER COIN SUPPLY only sells them as "albums" for an entire series. And it is quite expensive, about $70 for the Walking Liberty Halves, or $50 for the Franklins. I don't want their album, just a place to buy a few pages for my small collection of slabs.

Are you talking about getting an Eagle album that doesn't have any markings on it? At the very bottom of the site you mentioned has untitled albums with 2, 3, 4, or 5 blank pages. They also the pages by themselves without the albums.

I use the untitled Eagle albums as well as a lot of people on this board.

Opps..... Didn't see that you could buy individual pages down at the bottom. image

    Thanks!
  • From those pix though, it looks like they would just fall out. At least in the pic of the red looking folder?

  • Since I keep my slabs in a safety deposit box, I store them in Intercept Sheilds. So far I have had no problems with this method.

All my slabs are stored in Eagle untitled albums. They work excellent for me.
  • I use the untitled eagle sheets and buy my albumns at Walmart. They work very nicely. the coins will not fall out...in fact, they are hard to remove, once in place.

  • I picked up 7 boxes from NGC when I was there for $3.00 a box.

I used the Eagle 3 ring binders for quite a while. I looked at my coins so much that the plastic hindge broke down on the binder. I went to Staples and bought a better quality binder and this worked out fine. I found that the plastic sheets that held the slabs did not hold up (1 year). I have since went first class and bought Airtite cherry cases for my toned dollar collection. This was a very expensive solution but I do not think I have seen anything better to display my collection in. Since I plan to hold on to this collection for awhile I decided to go this route.
