I don't have any day to day coin shops where I am here in Richmond so when I went to Fla recently I hit a couple and had a blast.
I GOT TO PICK THRU SETS!!
That was actually very cool.
I got to talk coins with a bunch of people.
AGAIN,VERY COOL!
I picked up some Proof sets that I busted up and submitted to NCS & NGC.
I was doing a run about and came apon a place called
Hauser's Coin company.Really nice guy.As I am scrounging thru his proof sets the topic of modern sets comes up.I asked what he was getting for 2001 silver sets.He tells me $118.00 limit 1 per.
$118.00 LIMIT ONE PER.
I am amaized.
He has a set of silver ICG Pr 69 dcam graded quarters from 1999,I ask how much he says $120.00.
He's telling me he is selling it all.
I can see it going much higher.
The only bad part of the experiance was when an older Gent came in and wanted a price on some stuff.Franklin mint from what I heard.I have read stories about people who buy things and put them away only to find out they were taken for a ride.It was sad to watch. The guy had aparently been to a couple of shops and it was finally sinking in.
I was going thru all my submission papers to NCS/NGC and the total was a biy higher than I had remember.
64 total.5 are grade review.
24 are crossovers that went to NCS and will be graded by NGC.
The rest are raw.
When I got there I was met by a Very nice and extreamly helpful lady named Carol.Since this was my First time submitting I was totaly unprepared.Carol gave me an office and sat down and explained everything to me.
I was there for the better part of 4 hrs filling out paperwork.
She would leave and come back in a few minutes to check on me.She gave me her phone # in the back, if there was a time when I needed her I just called. For the last Hr and a half she didn't leave and we talked about coins and other stuff. She guided me on how I should submit a couple coins.Smart lady,Really helpful and patient.
I was impressed with how much time that she spent with me.
I'm going to be posting grades as they come in.
The tension is starting to mount.
You guys that do this for a living have my respect.
