good morning bust people' I am looking for a bust coin and would like your opinion on what coin I can get the best grate at the lowest price. I not looking a rare resell coin just a pretty bust for a cirulated type coin. I see some the bust you folks posted last week and that make me want one even more.

Draped Bust or Capped Bust? In general, the "best value" can be obtained with the half dollars as these are relatively plentiful and are large, attractive coins. I would go with F/VF Draped Bust halves or EF/AU Capped Bust halves if you are looking to spend less than $300. The $300 mark I mentioned is just a number I threw out, I have no clue what you are looking for in terms of budget vs coin. For the Capped Bust halves, the very early dates are not struck very well while the extreme late dates had a minor design change that resulted in a coin that I find less attractive. If you stay from about 1818-1829 you should find a fairly well struck coin. Good luck.

TomB, as usual good advice, wish you would post more often. I prefer the bust halves also, due to their size and the number of varieties.

For half dollars - it will be tough to get a draped bust in good condition for $100

Capped Bust half - XF in later years before reeded edge would be my suggestion - somewhere 1824 to 1836 - may even be able to get an AU50 - I think these are cool as well, especially the lettering/words on the edge/rim.
