Hi all, I was at the Baltimore show again today. I got to spend some time talking to several PCGS forum members. I met merz2 who had his super Registry set of Lincoln proof coins with him. Also, Kranky, Tootawl, coinguy1, Anaconda, Tonelover, GSAguy, Laura Sperber, and many more.
I got to set down and spend some time talking to Andy Skrabalak of Angel Dees coins. Andy is a real people person. I was amazed at the number of people showing up at his table to seek advice on super high quality coins they were selling or considering buying. His cabinet of Indian head cents, nickels, Lincolns cents and other various coins is simply fantastic. The luster was dripping all over the floor. Andy arranged two nice upgrades for my Type set. Both PQ coins which I will photograph and post as soon as I get home. He was forthright and honest with people whether they were looking at a cheapie coin or a coin that is out of most peoples (including mine) reach. Yes, Virginia. There are Coin World advertisers who are straight shooters.
Eagle Eye coins was right next door and I got to meet Rick Snow and chat with him a bit. It is amazing, all the guys who specialize, that I have met, have been very nice people. You can just tell. I asked him about his Eagle Eye Seal. He told me that the coins with that seal were coins he would really like to buy back some day. After looking at some of his stuff, I could see why. NICE.
Anaconda is famous for his toned coins, but some of his Seated Cameo proofs were just unbelieveable, and I got to see his MS68 $10 Indian. Wow!! He is a very nice guy, he was letting someone go through some very rare currency, just for the guys enjoyment. He wasn't buying but he was sure drooling. Adrian was happy to let him look at the notes.
The dealers I asked said that Retail traffic was good, more than expected was the impression I got. I did my share.
I missed my one o'clock lunch with the other forum members because I was below deck on a nearby WWII Submarine. Amazing that so many guys fit into it. Also amazing was the amount of valves, piping, wiring and other controls. I can't imagine living in one. Those guys were tough!
The show is great and so is the area. I plan on returning next year. mdwoods

I'm glad retail traffic was better than expected. I like to see new collectors, as long as they don't push up prices too much!
Check out the Southern Gold Society
We'll use our hands and hearts and if we must we'll use our heads.
It was a great pleasure to meet and coverse with a collector such as you.Andy is a class act.He has helped me more than once.I too value his expertise in the copper series. There was quite a bit of very good material at this show.I believe there was something for everyone.I don't care what goose3 says.LOL!!!
He's just to picky!
Registry 1909-1958 Proof Lincolns
I also noticed the increase of young people. One thing I did notice was that there were no singing Santa Clauses and Merz2 did not harass any Hooter's girls this year.
Question for Merz2: Is your favorite TV show.....CROSSING OVER????? Sorry but it I had to ask!!! It was good to hear that you at least got the 67 you wanted from the other coin. Like we were talking, if you submit the Lincoln again, maybe you'll get the crossover you wanted.
