Would this card get a PD?

This card graded a 9.5 in centering, corners and edges. Warning 600k file and lots of nose hairs!!! http://home.swbell.net/jkend33/78schmidt.jpg

  • WOW, that is just a little closer than I would ever want to get to Mike Schmidt, lmao
  • LOL, yeah sorry about the size. I had to scan it at 600dpi to get the full effect of the spots. That is actually an excellent way to pre-grade your cards.

    Jason:

As I replied to you on IM -- I think that this card would have a tough time getting a PSA 9. I think that PSA would probably just straight out 8 it rather than give it a PD -- but I'm not sure. The print on the bottom left is distracting -- it is noticeable without magnification, and it happens to be in the widest strip of white on the card. Though I encourage you to break out and try -- there isn't a big enough upside $$$ potential in a crossover to PSA 9, IMHO. It is a nice card -- and the borders and corners do look very nice. Too bad about the print, though.

By the way -- I am hoping that the scan is a little warped -- otherwise, it seems as if the left edge bends in a little bit starting at Schmidt's helmet. Does anyone else see what I am talking about? Probably just a scanning issue, though...

I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.
  • Please don't ever force me to look at Mike Schmidt's nose hair ever again.
