$50 price on our heads from Accucr@p...

PhillyJoePhillyJoe Posts: 2,700 ✭✭✭✭
I think they've finally lost their minds (again). Their home page is offering a $50 reward for sending them any negative emails concerning their service. If these threads count, we could all be millionaires!!!
I saw a 1964 Kennedy ACG Proof 70 (a.h. collectible special, what else would you expect) No one wants to pony up the $49 asking price on ebay. I was going to email them; "nice coin, why no returns? image why are there so many anti-ACCU web sites, a friend told me an ACG 70 is really a Pr 63 ($5 coin).......... "Why were you banned from the Baltimore show......";the usual questions. THEN I SAW THEIR HOMEPAGE!!!

BBBWWWWAAAAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

Of course, you might get the $50/incident but they'd have your name and address. And you never know what might show up some months later....

Everyone's entiltled to there own opinions. I guess the bad publicity they have been receiving is really starting to take it's toll. You would think they would get the hint. Anyone know what there web address is?

  • You get the $50 in credit towards grading. That should have people beating down the doors to claim their reward.

Man, Joe, I thought you were pulling our legs, but it's true!

Accugrade's web site. Even after submitting issues, and getting credits, who would submit to them? Especially since it is the people who are complaining who get the credit!

ACG homepage mentioned above Note the link to CoinFacts.com at the bottom of the page.

Then read what is said about them in a PNG survey quoted on the CoinFacts -site. LOL.

Hey, ACG provides one important service: the numismatic world always needs some comic relief now and then.

You know, if Hager is going to be running around claiming that he is not Accugrade, he should probably remove his name from the title of this page.image

Well, it won't take a rocket scientist to figure out my motive here. I figure I'll get about a $10,000 grading credit reward for turning in my buddy Russ. I'll put the $10,000 grading certificate on ebay with a starting bid of $5 and a buy-it-now of $10. image. Only problem, I might not get any bids.

    I just sent this email:
    ------------
    <subject: $50 Reward>

    Hi,

I just saw on your homepage a reward of $50 for the emails of people saying negative things about ACG. Given the First Ammendment of the United States which allows the freedom of speech, whether positive or negative, what do you plan on doing with these addresses? I do have emails to send you, but I am hesitent unless I know your intentions.

    Thank you,

    Jeremy Katz

I'll be in pain if I keep looking at their website; I'm laughing so hard. Go to "About Accu..., scroll down to Vision, "our staff has an average age of 40........ "Guess to be legal they had to talk about birthdays and not grading experience.

My other favorite is the submittal form that lets you assign the grade.

(the constant snickering has tipped off my co-workers that I'm not working)

Why is everybody so surprised by the REWARD offer. We all knew that eventually they would end up having to pay people to use their service, we're almost there.image

I know that Accurgrade's attention to detail is lacking, but I laughed when I saw this error on their website ( AGC or ACG???). The 5th point mentions that the "AGC" holder is lighter than the competion's. Don't they even know who they are? Hmm, I wonder, if I email this thread to someone will they be $50 richer? Any takers? image

<<<<<Accugrade™ also developed a course entitled "How To Become A Coin Dealer The Professional and Ethical Way."<<<<<
    ROFLMAO!!!

<<<<<<Over 500 people took the course, and over 100 became professional coin dealers - and all were taught by Mr. Hager.<<<<<
So does one become a <<<<professional <<<< by being convicted of ripping people off like Mr. Hager was or by having more ACG & PCI slabs on Yahoo than anyone else??

i met hager many years ago, he was an idiot back then, funny, some things never change.

  • I think most here are missing the point. A $50 CREDIT (NOT CASH!) from ACG is completely, totally and in every way worthless and useless. You would have to pay to ship them your coins, only for them to probably ruin them, and then you would have to pay to have them shipped back. Why on earth would anyone want a free $50 credit from ACG? I wouldn't go for a $500 credit from ACG if Mr. Hagar comes on this thread and personally offers it to me!image

  • I wonder how they'll handle the volume of email contacts? Must be thousands of negative emails and threads about them. It'll take them years (and a lot of cash) to contact everyone who speaks neagtively of them. Probably just looking to get the 'big fish'. On a more positive note why don't they just give their services away free for a few months? That would generate the same amount of business. After all, it's really only about getting more coins into their slabs that matters to them.
It's the "hunt" that makes this such a great hobby...
