Invoice 3014444. I'm getting much better at grading now! image The FS nickels are a real score, IMO. 3014445 isn't quite finished yet.

On the PCGS main page you can put in the submission number and get results. But I'll just put 'em here.

It's more significant for me because copper has been a weak spot for me and the ike had some PVC that took forever to remove. Thankfully it didn't cause corrosion, got to it before then. The eagle has a really nice peripheral tone from the cardboard holder it came in. Had a few extra hairlines which is why it graded what it did.

The MS66FS nickel is awesome to me, though. I've learned a lot about grading since earlier in the year!

And the nickel, for now, is a pop 14/0 coin! image I wonder if someone would pay big bucks for it? image

Your 88-P in 66fs would probably fetch at least $100. Way to go.

I'm not sure what to make of the silver eagle though image

Wow, I didn't think people would check up on this. Got PMs before I even realized the results were up! image

These were in the economy class. Most of these were experimental. The non PVC ones that were rejected were coins I was always suspicious of that I bought from a dealer in the 80s when I was in my teens. As you see, I got scr**ed on them. But I'm not disappointed at all. The PVC I can clean up (didn't notice it when I sent it in) and the half cent had very light corrosion but was very pleasing overall. Didn't think they'd BB it.

I got the trade and 20C below G prices (trade for $70, 20C for $55) and slabbed them mainly for the registry set (cheaper than buying nice new ones!). The dimes have great toning on them. The quarters have nice toning, but need to clean them off a bit with acetone. I'm not sure what the problem with the 3C is.

Just wanted to add, this was a nice learning experience. I'm in this hobby for fun and not really for profit. image Each of the 1800s coins that were slabbed were nice original untainted coins. Never cleaned or anything. I'm not sure what I'll do with the BB ones, but I think the half cent is certainly sellable. Probably sell the others with full disclosure or keep them as comparison copies.

The silver eagle is a sentimental piece I wanted to preserve. image
  • nwcs,
you can send your "nice" coins that were BB'ed by PCGS to ANACS for a net grade or NCS now slabs coins without stating a grade. This is just info, in case you want them in a slab.image
