Not necessarily. There are earlier bar-coded slabs also. Here is a this year's model:



Actually, more like a this "month's" model. Very recently graded.

Bar codes on the rev started in late 98. Mids1999 is from early 99 when they started putting coin & series # on them.

The barcode was moved to the front of the blue labeled slabs in March of this year.

Remember there are always crackouts... can mess up the time line.

How can a crackout change the timeline of when a particular slab variety was used?

I wasn't thinking of the slab, I was thinking about when a coin was graded. Which would be more valuable to me. But after thinking about it, probably not relevant to the original question.
