"it is in a sealed plastic case. the one shown in picture is not the one up for bidding but it is an example of the coin.the one you are bidding on is in much better condition than the one in the picture".

Hehe, yea it's a "steal" alright! This one will be on my snipe list for sure. image

Since when did an 1880 P actually become an 1889 CC.

Maybe it WAS an `89 CC last night, after that 1/5 of Vodka.image

.....the one you are bidding on is in much better condition than the one in the picture".

    Oh.
Maybe the seller could send you the `right ` pictures if you e-mail a request?
Hmm,Why not just get a shot of the actuall coin to show.Duh,

That coin photo must not be readily availible.
,Neither would any potential buyers money be either with a presentation such as this.

It would take a lot of faith to bid $3,000 on a raw coin sight unseen from a zero feedback seller.
  • "We are a coin dealer".

Is this supposed to inspire trust?

There are good coin dealers and bad coin dealers just like anything else.

Also, if you sell coins on eBay doesn't that automatically make you a coin dealer? I.e. one who deals in coins?

Anyway, I just hope that the auction doesn't draw any takers.

    Hey Cam!
I'll bet you the holed 3 cent piece that I'm saving for LordMarcovan's holey vest that this will get a bid or two before it's over!
(... psst hey Lord, bid on it and retract your bid before the aucton ends)image

Oh BTW, just because his feedback "number" is 0 doesn't necessarily mean he has no feedback image

  • Cam40Cam40 Posts: 8,146
It WOULD get some bids if the `correct` coin could be shown.

    I saw that too Placid.Zero feedback.New seller......
I wish I could afford to take the risk of bidding on this one.But the ol pockets arent that deep.
  • LokiLoki Posts: 897 ✭✭
OMG Check the Rest of the Stuff he is "selling"!!!
  • Click on his (o) feedback, it says he has 1 Positive and 1 negitive. And he says don't pay any attention to it. OK
  • GeminiGemini Posts: 3,085
The seller forgot to include..."The coin also comes holed for easy suspension"...

"Comes in a plastic holder" I wonder whose?...
    take a guess..

He should also include one of his vases with the coin so you will have a place to barf when you get to see it...

Maybe we sould bid on it and tell him,

<< <i>The money you will receive is not the actual money shown here!!!! >>

    What a crock!!!

Didn't the guy who was using everyone elses pictures have an ID that looked like a zip code??? I wonder if this is the same A$$HOLE, but this time he is mixing up his auctions to not have all coins.
It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!

  • GEEEZZZZ!!! I can't see for all the red flags on that one. Do you smell something???
  • $10 says this is nothing more than a punk teenager.......

It's so rare, it isn't even in the Red Book! image

This guy is running scam auctions.

  • I emailed the seller on his 1888-CC ? Auction.

    He replied

<< <i>I DID NOT MEAN TO TYPE IN THE "CC" AT THE END THAT WAS
    AN ACCIDENT.
I AM STARTING TO POST ACTUAL PICTURES NOW.THE REASON I
DID NOT PUT THEM ON FOR THOSE AUCTIONS IS BECAUSE I
WAS HAVING MY CAMERA FIXED AT THE TIME AND THOSE WERE
THE ONLY ONES LEFT ON THE HARDDRIVE. >>

  • One of his other auctions is listed as an 1880 MS66 for $6500 but look at the scan and it is an 1880-S in a recent PCGS holder. He says it was sent in for certification in 1980 and has been sitting untouched since then. What a joke!

No question about this one. Good catch Loki. I sent him a few eMail questions on some of his auctions, including the MS66 1880:

<< <i>Your "Uncle" could not have sent this coin in to be "registered" in 1980. The grading service PCGS did not exist in 1980. We are on to you. I'd suggest you cancel your auctions now before it is too late. >>

I think that he should get as much eMail as possible from us. Maybe he'll shut down before anybody gets screwed.

Yeah, this guy's a bit of a dullard. I've had several eMails back and forth with him. I told him that they're closing in on him, and he better run for his life.image

Here's his reply to my question:

most of them i just updated.
it is not a cc coin , that was put in on accident.
i was having my camera fixed and those were the only
    pics on the hard-drive

It was just an honest mistake, honest!
