I Don't Get DCAM on Coins Like This!

Take a look at this PR69DCAM Lincoln.... am I missing something, or do my submissions arrive on the wrong day of the week?

Well, I'm used to frosted surfaces scanning light and reflective surfaces scanning dark. The amount of dark on lincoln's bust sure doesn't appear cameo. The reverse is slightly better, but per PCGS rules both side must meet the criteria. Also, I find cameo usually looks a little better in a scan than in person.

Hard to understand how PCGS gave you the Cameo grade.

It is hard to tell from the pic which the light is being directed from the bottom. Otherwise it's a typo, and Heritage must be capiatalizing on it. Who are they to argue with PCGS.

I think it is the light.

Look at the slab.See the light at the bottom reflecting off the plastic?Theres your main light source.Its `low`as if the lightbulb was at `near sunset`.
Obviously they do try not to let the light reflect off the face of the slab , so they angle the light as much as possible to avoid any glare.

I have to agree with Itsjustnotme on this one. Even with a low light source the coin should show some life. That coin is just blahhhh! Here is a coin I just got back that graded 68DCAM. Even with my lousy scanner it shows lots of life. Why it didn't grade a 69DCAM I'll never know. Coin is great. It's hard to tell grade from the scan because of all the stuff on the scanner bed. Should have cleaned it before scanning coin.

Hey, that's one of my old coins (I send a few to Heritage). That is a crappy scan. The coin was bought from R&I and has a very nice Deep Cameo... Going to have to call Heritage and have them re-scan it.
