Great results, esp. the 42-P! Congrats!
  • clackamas - as a mixed bag of types of Jeffersons, this is a nice overall submission! The FSs and the high pops are great! Enjoy them!
  • I submitted all the coins thinking they all had a shot at FS designation. That is why some of the lower graded coins got in the mix. Normally I would not have sent these in except for the shot at FS.

i'm assuming that you felt most would get the FS designation, correct? were they really that hard on you?
the 1942-P T2 and the 1949-D are tough dates, nice going there.

    what were the planchet flaws?

    49D is FS, cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!image

    Brian.
  • I don't think they were overly tough. You see some FS coins that do have marks on the steps and many of the ones that did not get the FS designation had marks. Its a fine line with PCGS, IMO, on how bad a mark can be on the steps and still get the FS designation. I was testing the waters on some and am not surprized at all that many did not get the designation.

The 42-P gave me smiles as well as some other dates. I am quite happy with the results. In a batch sent with this submission I also got a 72-P Jeff in 66FS, its a 9/1 coin so I am on a roll right now.

Thats 2 this month!! and this one is a 66FS to boot!! image

I got a 46 in FS as well which is an even tougher coin than the 49-D

I have noticed that they are now more strict on marks on the steps. They used to let you get by with one a little larger than they do now. The first couple of submissions after the change, I got several without FS before I adjusted.
