WOW. I didn't know that the Liberty Indian could look like that! Do FEs ever come that way? (Of course, with our budget, it really doesn't matter - it's all eye-candy to me). Keep posting. Those are so much fun at which to look.
Edited to correct my grammar. (Eye are a gradiate.)
10k for a coin that bids at $85. Sure it's pretty, but isn't that a bit ridiculous? This is when someone will bid as I'm typing It's pretty and all, but..................nice color.
WOW!! That's a beaut snake!! Best looking 63 I ever saw. That's really pretty. Did I say that yet? Man that bullseye periph tone is almost freakin perfect.
Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.
they sure as heck ain't common! not even at big shows! observation: it seems like proof copper is more prone to wayte-raymond toning than business strike copper.
The're not so scarce that you should be banging your chest posting it on a message board, unless your ego hasn't been stroked in awhile and you need an ego fix.
Ya I know I took the chance to actually find out who Adrian actually is instead of basing an opinion on whats said and heard..
He's actually a cool laid back guy with an extreme sence of humor, not out to hurt but educate. If he occassionaly steps down to a lower level to address unneeded attacks there are certain people who seem to make that ness. I kinda don't blame him.
Cool coins...if ya have any culls, Ill giveya an address

agentjim007, i like ya, dude. you have started some of the coolest threads in the past couple of months. but you sound just a little upset w/ anaconda!
Congradulations Pontiacinf you are now an ANACONDA stepford groopie. Not to hurt but educate? he said himself he's not a numismatist. Not to hurt? I will admit he has toned down since Laura put him in his place but it hasn't always been the case. I would like to cut him some slack all he has to do is admit he didn't have the balls to deal with his problem with me to my face ( well kinda to my face since we're on puters) instead of the stealth approach.
AgentJim007 - first of all, I'm not beating my chest, it's an inexpensive coin, that's one of the reasons I posted it. Truth be told, we all need ego fixes -- some people get their ego fixes by prending they're secret agents or that they are monsters. Nothing abnormal about that, unless they take themselves too seriously.
Others get their fixes by drawing attention to themselves by saying obviously dumb things on message boards. Everyone wants to be important.
Some ways are probably wiser than others.
So, ones that look like this are not scarce? You have brown eyes don't you?
I'll give you $1500 for a proof IHC in a PCGS 63 or better holder that you post here (you have to sell to me for the $1500) on this board that is as spectacular as either one I posted.
Any color designation. That's about 15 times sheet. Since they're so common, you ought to be able to line me up with one.......today......
hey anaconda, back to the subject at hand. would you agree that proofs are more prone to that kind of toning than business strikes? i'm assuming you have a good eye for that stuff, would like to hear your experience. btw, i probably have 20-25 coins w/ that quality of toning, mostly bust & seated silver though. some day, i may catch up w/ benson..... also, i have looked & looked & looked, but never found even a foreign gold coin w/ rainbow toning. i know gold is pretty danged inert, but you'd think 1 would show up once in a while.
AgentJim007 - the offer ends in 47 hours because according to you, they're common .......and you won't need more than 48 hours. Need more time?????....just ask for it.....i might give it to you. Who knows, you might actually start acting a little more predictable in a positive sense, and who knows, all kinds of good things might happen to you.
As for your criticism of me for motivating the ATers....that one bearly rises to the level of one that needs a reply. In fact, it doesn't even rise that high.
dorkkarl - it is my opinion that proofs get that kind of toning more readily than mint state coins. One more factor is that the reflective surfaces of the proofs "throw out" more of the color, making the color they possess even more intense than the color found on the mint state coins.
Nice back out. If you think that the big bucks paid for toned coins is not motivating the tone Dr.'s your kidding yourself. And I said they're not so scarce (never said common). I know that someone out there would love to sell you a PR63BN Indian w/toning for $1500.
All personal stuff aside, I'd also like to know where I could find an album toned IH proof that turned out this nice. I normally prefer the tissue type toning patterns, but this one is dazzling. Hard to say why it's a 63 from the image, unless that's a gouge on the reverse that toned red instead of blue. Even if that's the case, if this is going to come up for sale at a somewhat reasonable price I'd sure like to know.
That "NFS" caught me by surprise. I just assumed it was on Ebay, to sell. Tough to decipher the advertisements and the real items sometimes. I won't go as far to say these are common, but you can find 'em with toning "similar" to that. I believe Tom B. has one, although he hasn't posted in quite a while. I had one similar also, just not as much blue. A 64 rb in a pcgs holder. They're out there. I'm not interested in the rest of the hoopla going on in this thread though.
I wouldn't say that they are "common" but I had about 6 of those (NGC 65 and 66 proofs) that I couldn't scan to save my life, so I sent them away. My asking prices were about 1/20th of this one. I still know where they live though.
1/20th of 10K = $500 if my math is correct. ANACONDA said he would pay $1500 for 48 hours (that was several hours ago) if you know where they live there's money to be made.

AWESOME coin! Why a 63BN???
I think that this is the effect that blow torch guy is looking for, but just isn't quite getting it.

Since he said it was Not For Sale, do you think it might be at a $10,000 so no one will buy it?
