Re-toned coins, what to do..

I have noticed on quite a few coins that I have in old ANACS Holders, that were net graded for cleaning, that the coins have re-toned, sometimes VERY beautifully. i plan on selling some of these coins. Should I leave them as-is, break them out and 2X2 them??? Curious as to what you all think. Below is an example of one of the coins. It is pretty close to what it looks like in person.

I'd leave them as is.Be honest with the description.

  • I'm with Don. Tell it like it is and you'll sleep well at night! I had several auctions end Saturday and advised any potential seller that I thought that some of my coins had been cleaned and I still got what I thought was a very fair price, in fact the prices suprised me. Your coin looked great to me. I'm noticing that a lot of people are buying the coin if it's still attractive despite the cleaning.

  • Were the coins white when you purchased them? How long has it taken for the toning to develop?

leave them in the slabs, and if selling them, it your add, just tell the truth, someone just might like them as they are.
