    Can someone answer a question ? Why only a 64 on this coin. Because of the 2 dings at 1 and 3 oclock?

    There may be a few more ticks, looks like a few hairlines at 2:30 and 3, maybe a few more. Also we can't see the reverse. Looks like a nice 64 from the scan!
  • More than likely the coin gets a 64 because of hairlines which can't be seen in the scan.

    This is a very beautiful coin. I have been hedging around with the idea of putting together a non-gold proof 1873 proof set for some time now, then you had to go ahead and post this coin.

    The picture is so big it dwarfs the link to the coin on eBay where there are more pictures both front and back.
