Toughest new set

I know most people on this board couldn't care less about any card set where the year starts with a "2", but the set has been added to the registry. It's a beautiful set, and aside from the base set can be very challenging. Just one person, or entity, has registered so far, but it's impressive. PSA is including base cards, the cut sig cards, and all the bats and jerseys in the set, and this person has over 96% complete, albeit not at a high GPA. A couple of the autos only have one example, and there are several that have single-digit print runs. I have to wonder what he's missing, and if the set will turn up for auction somewhere. 2001 SP Legendary Cuts

  • Au Contraire!

Just because it starts with a 2 is no reason for any to look down. This is a magnificent set that has been listed on the registry and represents a huge effort and expense to track down those 1/1 and ultra low pop cut sigs. I can well understand as to why he has shielded the set.

  • That set is simply amazing. I got heavy into the Legendary Cuts set last year. I actually have a couple of sets raw. As a goof I sent some in to PSA to grade when they had a special last year. Out of the 10 cards I sent in, only 3 9's and I looked these cards over carefully. So it is a very tough set. Still an amazing task to assemble something like that with all of the bat, sigs and jersey cards.
