I think that belongs to a board member, if not there is a member who has one like it. It is a restrike using genuine old CC dies, but it's not really a pattern made in 1884. I've only heard of about 3 of them, Error Dealer Mike Byers had 2 and the said member had 1. Some are copper and some are silver.

Sorry, the other coin is a $5 gold coin.A hole was bored out then plugged with a gold slug then stamped.

  • So what are these? Die stampings? - and if so, do the cancellation marks look right?

So were these produced recently from cancelled dies? What would the reason be to do a trail strike after the die is cancelled?
