1880-S, Morgan Mint Mark

I was looking at these two 1880-S Morgans, each graded MS-65 from PCGS, and noticed that the "S" mint mark is remarkably larger on the first jpeg (the 'b' file). then the other. The scan does not do it justice, but it is considerably larger. I compared it with another mS-65 1880-S, and again larger.

Is this just related to a die change that year???

There were 6 different S punched used on Morgans, 2 in 1880. The small one is the IV Med and the large one is VI Very Large.
