I got a Michael Jordan 86-87 Fleer Rookie, looks mint if not better, im DEFINATELY getting it graded...I also got 75 of the 100 card 01-02 Authentix base set and 4 of the rookies...SWEET, should i get it graded by PSA or BGS, also could somebody help me, I never had a card graded before and don't understand those forms really, HELP PLEASE, thank you all at CU!! what a day!

You should do a few things before sending it off to be graded, or you will likely get it back and be disappointed with the grade. Did you measure the centering top to bottom and left to right? Did you look at the corners using 10X magnification? Did you check the front and back for any print marks, scratches, etc? How is the color?

Check all of these first - your card may not be as mint as you think.....BGS, PSA, and SGC grade very tough.

I measured it left to right top to bottom, looks about perfect...prolly better than 55-45!
corners look razor sharp, but didnt use 10x magnification, i still think corners are worthy of a 9
front and back not even a finger print, looks like a 10 there

color is perfect, no fading what-so-ever

Looks like BGS 9.5 to the naked eye, but I am starting to think BGS 8.5 or 9, still satisfies me

it sounds fake to me.put a scan of it on here i will tell you if it is real.

your cards went out today.

it looks real, i looked at a graded one on ebay and they look exactly the same, everything about them...

Sounds good...I hope you are right and wish you luck. You should check the card under 10X magnification just to make yourself feel better - if you see print dots instead of solid color than it is definitely fake. BGS is the best way to go, if you are sure about the condition and plan to resell the card. BGS cards seem to get a very slight premium over PSA graded cards. Personally, I prefer PSA and SGC....but they just don't seem to sell for quite as much.

you should try and get hold of the July beckett basketball.

There is a whole article in there on how to tell a real 86 fleer jordan rookie from a fake.

I've also been trying to get hold of this issue b/c i've been thinking about investing in a 86 fleer jordan rookie card.
