Well, as far as I'm concerned, they've more than made up for misplacing my shipment. I contacted them and spoke with the owner, Lewis, and he explained that a couple of his folks that handle all the eBay and computer stuff had walked out...no notice which made it very difficult as he stated that he is not very computer literate. He's been spending the last month trying to catch up and was sincere in his apology. He was very understanding and pleasant to talk to.
While he couldn't guarantee that he would be able to locate my particular coin (PCGS Dime Sample in old rattler) he would make amends with something he knew I would like.
It came today. A 1921 BU Morgan that is an absolute blazer. Full hairline above the ear, totally full-strike, absolutely stunning and bright white. Now I know to all you major collectors that a common-date Morgan would invoke a yawn-fest, but this is the first full-strike Morgan I'VE ever seen and quite a replacement for a $5.00 coin.
I held off leaving bad FB on him on the off-chance that something was genuinely wrong. Since my contacting him he has hired another person to handle his e-mail and other computer stuff and she has contacted me twice to ensure that all was well.
I'm glad I waited. Now, on to post his FB.
Cheers,
Bob

Your story is so reflective of my experience on Ebay. The vast, vast, vast majority of Ebay sellers will work with you to make the transaction good after it has gone sour, if a buyer will just communicate with them. When something goes wrong in a transaction, both parties need to try and see the other party's position as well as their own. Then both parties can work to find common ground without one party feeling they got the short end of the stick. Unusual circumstances, like your seller's Ebay help walking out, are usually the root cause of the deal going bad.
I'm really glad you kept a cool head, called the owner to work things out and withheld your Feedback until you knew the end result of the transaction. Really glad to hear you received a nice coin you find a more than adequate replacement for your intended puchase!!

Yet, when someone complains about a seller and makes more of a very minor detail than it warrants, then 50 or 60 posts will pile on!

I agree, it is sad. People are all too ready to criticize but slow on giving credit where credit is due.
