Title says ANACS, yet is it my imagination or is this coin raw?!?

    My guess would be that the picture was taken before being slabbed. No plastic means no plastic glare! image

    It is definately a raw coin. My guess is this coin was reviewed by ANACS at a show and given the MS63 grade, but it was never slabbed. (I wonder if they said MS63 but AT.)

    After having viewed the video on AT last night, I am quite sure that this is not AT. The pictures could be pre-submittal or they wanted certification with no slab. I think it's a nice coin.

    ANACS had an old system where the coin was still raw. You ended up with a photo and three grades for each side. Hereis a large scan of one. You get the nice cert with photo, the coin is still loose. Maybe this Morgan is the same?

    I actually do this sometimes. I'll scan a coin raw, especially problem coins or varieties, and offer them for sale raw, if they don't sell, I'll send them off to anacs to get slabbed, and they usually will sell once slabbed. If you're trying to sell online, it seems to work that way. For me anyway.
