Congratulations to Andy Kaplan for surpassing the "big three" of vintage sportscard collecting once again to take the title of greatest set for 1933 Goudey Sports Kings, in my opinion one of the greatest sets in existence. I am happy to have contributed the winning card to Andy's set.
Andy also has the #1 set for another of the greatest sets of all time--1953 Bowman Color.
What's next Andy-- 52 Topps? Come on--lets get that Mastronet set together.

Good stuff. Murcerfan caved in on them last year, I especially love those skier cards.
Vic.........I launched a package your way at noon. hope those cert numbers helped you land the #3 spot. I never got the last 3 sorry. Good luck jumping Charlie or Earhart.
Watch out, I got Marshall all wound up on an all psa10 '69 super set last night.
He has been a very busy guy from what I gather, but you are way in front on those for now.
You guys all deserve awards..........or stronger prescriptions.
the guy who deserves most of the credit for putting both the '53's and sport kings sets together is jp cohen, who until recently ran memory lane. jp has unfortunately left the business, which is a huge loss to the hobby. where he was able to come up with so many low pop 9's i'll never know...he claimed it was his side occupation as a cat burglar.
on the 52's, i'd be happy to jump right in there with you on the mastro set if you'd be kind enough to take over my mortgage payments for the next several years.

Ha! I know the feeling. Good to see you that you have posted--we need more people who collect the true vintage sets to post--I suspect that 1953 Bowman Black & White may be next for you--good luck, its very tough and you get to go head to head against John Branca for the difficult cards.

In retrospect, that's funny stuff right there.
Always looking for Topps Salesman Samples, pre '51 unopened packs, E90-2, E91a, N690 Kalamazoo Bats, and T204 Square Frame Ramly's
What a loss that would have been to the hobby, luckily he found his way back to us.....
Great card Keith, they eyes on it are a brilliant blue! Love the Sports king set, its a pipe dream of mine to complete it someday

For the beginner minority reading this, the 48-card 1933 Goudey Sport Kings card set is one of the hobby's most special. It is nearly unique for a vintage set in that its card subjects span numerous well-known sports, and many non-mainsteam ones. The set's first six cards are stars from more celebrated sports like baseball, football, and basketball -Ty Cobb, Babe Ruth, Nat Holman, Red Grange, Ed Wachter, and Jim Thorpe respectively. There are also cards featuring notable players in hockey, billiards, surfing, tennis, bicycling, golf, wrestling, boxing, jockeying, skiing, more. The aforementioned #48 Seppala dog mushing card is the last card in the set.
It looks like there are 30+ PSA Set Registrants actively pursuing the set with fifteen of those sets complete. It would be a pleasure to see some scans posted here as there are very few scans uploaded on the Registry. Thanks to "Threeputts" for having Registry scans of all 48. That's a treat.
Well, I must be in the minority of Alaskans that desired a Leonhard Seppala card and even know what one is. I mean really, I think most Alaskans desire something else...
