Wow Jon !! The 25D is Just Plain Nice (Huge Smile)

Here is the 1925D that Jon (Dimeman) sold me. He said it looked 64 to him and I Agree. Took My 15 Power Loop to find any Slide Marks at all. Mt Guess is that PCGS gave this a 63 grade because of the Strike. Heck they are Mostly All Weak where this one shows weakness. Its in a older Green Lable Holder so who knows, maybe Upgrade time for this one.

Jon I could not be Happier. This is another of the Advantages of Participation in the Registries. Let the People who call us Number chasers "Weep" while We keep the Nice Coins between Ourselves. Again, Thanks So Much !!

Hey here is something I have never seen on a Merc Dime. Look at the O in the OF. When I first pulled the Dime out of the shipping box I thought What The Heck is This. Being the Eyes are not what they used to be the Loop came out. That second O is Tone and almost a Perfect O like the one it is off set from. Sort of Weird but Way Cool to me.

One other Dime got here today which was the 40D in 66FB. A nice Original Non Dipped Coin that also I am pleased with. Only 3 left out to come to PaPa, the 17P a 27S and a 37S. Needless to say the Coin budget just may be Shot for the Year.

Take Care:

Ken

    Ken,

I am really glad you like the 25-D. The only reason I upgraded is so you could enjoy this one. They are hard to find as you well know.

Do you like the 1858 as well????

    Congratulations Ken,

I hear you have been chasing that one for a long time. Tough tough dime, & I agree, looks like a 64FB to me. So when you upgrade, can I have first shot at that one? I want to see pics of the 27-S when it comes in also.

    AL:

That Coin has been auctioned 3 times I believe by them. Man what a Piece of Junk that is called MS. It would be a nice AU Coin IMO.

I'm sorry to say these So Called Sellers only are about 1 hour from me. Actually have bought 2 Coins from them but they were both Sight Seen coins. Man I hope the Good Dealer in that Town does not see this Post as I would be Banned from his Shop for Life.

Nice '25-D, Ken. Let me know if you ever get tired of it.

I'd hesitate to pay AU money for either the '25-P or '26-D; they'd probably both come back in body bags if sent to PCGS.

I took the day off work and went to a show today. The only PCGS Merc's I could find before 1929 were a 1918-D in MS65 (nice light toning, but I've already got that one), a 1920-P in 64FB, and the ubiquitous 1916-P in 65FB. I managed to find upgrades for my '39-P and '40-D- both 66FB, a couple of my favorite classic commems, the 1925-S California and 1925 (S) Vancouver - both pretty, lustrous MS64's, a couple of raw Dark Side coins, and a couple of coins for non-registered sets that I'm working on. A disappointing day for Merc's, but overall a good show.
