Kobe still had 25 points, 10 boards, 2 assists, because his freaking teammates can't hit a shot. kobe was 9-18 which is shooting 50% WITHOUT SHAQ mr. autobilia.

NOT TO MENTION the lakers were up by 3 when kobe twisted his ankle and then after kobe went out the blazers went on a 21-6 run.

pretty much just controlled the game from then on.

Shaq has the ability to make the players around him better (draw a double or triple team and then throw the ball back out which gives the guards open shots). And nikobe was right about one thing: "The lakers should lose tonight aswell, because the blazers are just a flat out good "team"., but it was Rasheed that punished the Lakers.

Its pretty easy to punish the lakers when they have that stiff at center. I dont even know his name, something samake. Ill tell you this though, Shaq would not win with this team if kobe was out. The lakers need 30 from shaq, 25 from kobe and 15 from fox to win because the rest are incapable of picking up their games.

the lakers need both shaq and kobe to win period..both of them together seem to get the role players to play to their highest level.. doubling shaq helps because he will kick it out and kobe's penetration and kick leads to open jumpers i.e horry in the corner to beat portland in the playoffs last year

Fisher doesnt play better with any particular player, he is inconsistent like all the rest. Any good team needs two consistant scorers to win unless you have a bench like portland or sacramento. The lakers need 50 between shaq and kobe to win. That has been their formula for 3 years.

Kobe could carry a team without Shaq to a .500 record. It's obvious Kobe is nothing without the big man.

I said it last night. Shaq will be out at least 20 games this season. The Lakers will be lucky to finish 8-12 for those games. Kobe is not a leader nor is he one of the best players in the league.

I'd take Tmac, Kidd, Webber, or Duncan any day over the immature player many here idol called Kobe Bryant. His attributes are all helped by the most dominant center in the history of the game, former LSU center Shaquille O' Neal. Without Shaq Kobe and the Lakers are just another .500 team.

Well guys I was too busy attending the Raptors game to see what happened with the Lakers and Kobe. Hmm, could it be that the big man Shaq is the reason they are winning the championships? Hmm.....well here's Kobe's chance to show us all what the Lakers are without Shaq and he's already 0 for 2. I still expect the Lakers to win alot of games but against good teams like Portland and the Spurs they are no match without Shaq. Now if Shaq was playing and Kobe wasn't in the lineup, I'd bet the Lakers would be 2-0 right now.

On another note, for all the guys who say Vince Carter can't play D, I think he played really well against the Wizz (frustrated Stackhouse enough that he got a tech) .....and man are the ESPN commentators dumb. Elliots quote: "Vince Carter better than Jordan? Ha....Jordan had two rings in his first 4 seasons......" Sure buddy, maybe in your videogames he won, took him a few more seasons to win his first ring, after those beatings from the Pistons.

Hey man, last night MoPete was better than Kobe. As for records, who said anything about that? All I'm trying to say is that the Lakers are who they are (3 time champs) because of Shaq...why else would he win MVP every year? Without him they are an average team with one allstar. Not saying Kobe is bad at all, he just can't really lead the Lakers to the promise land, that is Shaq's job...that's why he's superman.

That if Shaq and the other good starters were out for good that Kobe and AI would have alot in common.When your the only guy on your team that can score you do have to take alot (all) the shots.And when your the only guy who can score and you are taking all the shots you get defended HEAVILY thus a lower FG %age.Shows that these 2 players have alot in common when you take the big guy out of the picture.

That is not to say that Shaq is the sole reason for the Laker's winning,But shows how similar Kobe and guys like AI would be if Shaq was'nt a part of his team.

He had one bad shooting day & yesterday he hit 50%.
Iverson usually averages 40% for a season, if Kobe does that during the first 20 games you have a point.

When the best player on any team isn't playing the team will strugle (bar sacramento). Kobe is the best all around player in the league, but Tmac has proven that even a great all around player needs some help to get it done. The lakers will be fine this season but without the duo of shaq and kobe healthy that is no longer true. (did that make sense?)

kind of pathetic when somebody shows stats of various players and says Kobe is doing the most for his team this season...especially putting mcgrady points against kobe's, considering mcgrady took a whopping 37 shots in 2 games, and kobe took 47....And rebounds and assists can be a VERY overrated statline, tmac's assists made plays easy for teammates (ex: mcgrady drives, draws defense, dishes to pat burke for an EASY slam)...while some assist come by jason kidd passes to kenyon martin, kmart with a drive and layup(how can that be an assist, if the player does all the work)he didnt make the player any easier for kmart, JUST an example...but chekc this out, i guess the basketball politics are moving Kobe down in the ranks, check this out:

Barry Bonds, selfish? Most hated person in sports? That's only if you work for the media. How can you be selfish playing baseball? He hit 73 HRs and at the same time had about 177 walks. This year he had 198 walks. Unlike Sammy Sosa (either swing for the fence or strike out swinging at bad pitches, Bonds either swung for the fences or walked to get on base. 198 walks is very unselfish when it comes to a team. Sammy Sosa struck out 142 times last season vs. Bonds 47. But Sosa is loved along with McGwire because they are media friendly. I'm not surprised that statement came from a Kobe fan... another media favorite. Bonds falls into the Shaq category. Both are the best in the game and somewhat arrogant about their abilities, but they back it up every game. Bonds plays hard every game and takes a walk when bad pitches come instead of swinging at everything trying to hit a HR to improve his personal stats.

kobe is more liked around the country than barry bonds by far. No one outside of giants fans likes barry bonds, kobe has fans all over the country. Bonds' teamates hate him and he is seen as one of the laziest peole in sports with his defense. He is also unliked because he doesnt have the balls to crown the plate without that body armour. Look at david eckstien who gets hit all the time and is half the size of bonds. we will see how far he can carry a team all by himself when dusty baker and jeff kent leave.
