I completely missed the "small print". If I were the seller (glad I'm not) I'd probably honor the sale since both the large print description and the picture show a 1891 MS-65 Red. I'd also be mad as hades at myself.
In reality, I'll bet $1 to 10 cents that the seller either ships the 1886 and plays dumb at first, or backs out of the sale. If the seller backs out, he owes the buyer a very sincere apology and at least a big discount on another purchase, or some kind of consulation prize.
I made a similiar listing error once, but fortunately caught it before anybody BIN'd the coin. I was prepared to take a big hit, but got lucky. Just one humble point of view.
Ebay seller thenumish now a board member (was not then) made a mistake in his listing advertising the wrong coin with a LOW buy it now. I hit it thinking it had to be a mistake and it was. The he informed me of his error and transaction never took place. We both left each other great feedback.
Had the same thing happen with R&I coins but we agreed on a fair price and completed the transaction.
It is not hard to figure out when an honest mistake has been made.

One of the two of them is in for a big surprice, regardless of the small print. I wonder if the buyer in their excitement to hit the buy it now even read it.
I emailed the seller [Gary] and he said the listing was incorrect. This is the second time that the same 1891 was improperly listed. He is about ready to fire the guy who does his listings. For some reason this seller has problems with images looking very cloudy through the plastic slabs.
He wouldn't sell it to me for $325 as I said I would gladly take it off his hands for that price. The sale won't stand.
Anyone notice that Eagle Eye just put some very expensive IHCs on eBay.

Personally, I think the CN proofs are the prettiest cents ever made. They are what got me interested in FE/IHC cents. The 1863 is a real tough date, the 1864 a beauty.

WOW! Did they ever - wish it was me I could kick myself for missing that one. Wonder if the sale will go to fruition or if the seller will back out?
