Remember the supposedly stolen high dollar morgan heritage was selling?

What ever came of that? Someone posted a pic of a morgan that was stolen, and you guys determined the same exact coin was being sold at a Heritage auction.

    wasn't the same coin
  • I believe it turned out that it was not the coin. The picture they had was from NGC and was the same coin that Heritage was selling but NOT the same coin that was stolen. At least this is how I remember it.
  • that really suprises me. I remember looking at the two, and following the thread. They had the EXACT same markings, bag marks, blimishes, etc.

The person who had said the coin was stolen did not have a picture of the coin and I don't think he had the coin graded. He had a stock photo which NGC had sent him when he requested a picture of the coin of a specific date/mintmark. Boardmembers were over anxious to crack a case that didn't exist.
